How come the BPO only costs about 90,000 ISK whereas the product costs about 1,000,000 ISK? It's inane. The raw material cost of producing the product is far more than 90,000. So why is it at odds with practically every other BPO out there?
I've already raised this with a GM but I guess something was lost in translation, because we ended up talking in circles.
What's the go?

Good question. Maybe since the tractor beam's skill requirements were slashed it's considered a module that should be freely available to anyone interested in having one, and since there's no manufacturing base of older players cranking them out, CCP made the BPO cheap to encourage production.
That's just a guess, but if it's right, I wish they'd do the same thing to encourage T2 production...

The price of the BPO was set unintentionally low, they got as far as releasing patch notes about changing it to 10x the production cost, then repealed it at the last minute.

I hear a rumour that it might get fixed in Kali. Only a rumour though.

The tractor beam's main use isn't as a module - it's as a mineral packer.

now, with all the t1 module around here, they should keep it like that.
after all, it worth 5m (4 tractor beam) to increase your loot gathering productivity 3-4 time more faster.
BTW:
We should be able to tractor everyone can when you are in gang with them.

You still have the 5,000 BPOs when from the BPO price change disaster, is that it?  .
Anyway, lets puy it this way, I think that every person in EVE has at least 1 of them BPOs, and the ammount sold during the faithful snafu with patchnotes is possibly large enough to paper all of the stations in Forge.
