Once the recording comes out on Twitch, check it out, it's about 30 min into the Art & Graphic Panel and I'll link it here once I see it get published on unless somebody beats me to it.
Short description:
Frigate sized explosion: Fast flash of the reactor going up, shock rings and debris. Battleship sized explosion: Slower but bigger bi-directional flash (looks sort of like a bright planetary nebula), BIG shock rings, and debris.
Overall impression is that it's a huge improvement over what we have now and this has been a sore spot for me since they took out the good old blue flash.
Other new effects:
POS bubble will look sort of like a cross between the Northern Lights and the Gungan shield from Star Wars EP1. Looks pretty sexy if you ask me.
POS module Build Effect: The effect starts at two opposite sides (top/bottom) and works toward the middle as the build progresses. It's kind of hard to explain, but it looks pretty nice.

Explosions.
At long last, because the current ones are lacking in so many ways, I won't even describe. CCP, ubad?
Now Nexus: Jupiter incident had real manly explosions.
I wonder if it would it be possible to do the following: Upon your ship reaching 0 Structure, your pod is ejected first, and the ship begins a slow disintegration, lasting maybe 5-10 seconds.

New explosions. Proof that CCP loves us, and wants us to die in a fire.

That's ultimately what I want too, but I think they're more worried about performance hits under those kinds of scenarios. I know from my own experience with game engines that particles that live too long tend to bog things down a lot. |

It is better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to type on your keyboard and remove all doubt.
