I'm getting sick and tired of having to manually look thru page after slow page just to find a single post I want... We had it before it came to the player only area ffs.
When will CCP begin to listen to what we have been patiently waiting for for absolute ages... Patience isnt infinite and atm I'm really getting a bit put off with the Soon(tm) comments that is all we get.
Sorry if it's a bit harsh but this forum software is like something out of the 90's. -------------------------------------------

I agree. A forum search feature is not hard to implement and is very much needed.

I don't even think they have a full-time web developer there. I think every so often a dev mucks around with the code on the site or t0rfifrans makes a new graphic but if they actually had a web developer the "in-game" part would be finished like a CCP dev said on the first week these "new" forums came in. He said "you will see next patch". Let me go dig for the post. It might take me a day to "search" for it though. ----------------------------------------- Sig rented by Drethen Nerevitas. |

Here we go "next patch".

My guess is he was alluding to the 'News' feature that was in stations in beta that was supposed to be the reason why this forum is called "in-game". It was an in-station forum. It was cool but I guess it just wasn't as important as something else. ----------------------------------------- Sig rented by Drethen Nerevitas. |

For a start off... it's very user unfriendly for new players. They can't use the game manual (you know the one that was out of date on day of release) so it would help them to be able to search for info...
... but no... CCP are hurting themselves here with making people have to go to unnoficial sites just to be able to search. For god's sake there are loads of people out there who would code one for them if they asked but we just aren't important enough I guess.
CCP's attitude of "oh, it's good enough... it will do!" is just not encouraging to say the least. I don't WANT to leave but I'm getting more and more dissastisfied as time goes on. I still remember promises of things like the z-buffer fix (to stop the awful ripple effect on stations), gametime cards... CONTENT...
Come on CCP... PLEASE prove me wrong and give the community some help please. -------------------------------------------

I rarely come to these forums becase of a) all the whining and moaning here, b) the lack of a decent forum interface. However, since this is one of my pet peeves, I'll contribute to (a) by whining about (b).
People have been suggesting since I've been involved with EVE (beta7) that the forum software sucked. Back then, the forum would get overloaded and would kick out SQL errors. Thankfully, those days are behind us.
However, without some of the niceties of a modern forum - specifically search - I find this forum to be all but useless for the casual user. If you're here 24-7 and can keep up with the flow of posts, you're fine, but I would rather play the game than read about it all day. The inability to mark a post as a favorite and/or recieve an email when someone posts a reply also hinders followup to items of interest (and if someone knows how to turn that stuff on and I missed it, just tell me... I haven't found it yet).
Finally, the lack of a presence from CCP -- which SHOULD be the defining advantage to posting here -- causes me to spend time on other forums to get my EVE news. -----

Ah I love the Forum Mod's sense of humour.... and all that for such a small monthly pay check.
Bargain-bucket stuff... a bit like the forums themselves...

At least we can edit, I've been to too many forums without that feature.
maybe they keep score on how many threads pop up on the same topic over a month?

Regarding editing.. Weird how double posters don't seem to realize that you can delete your post press edit.. then press delete..

people were vocal about lack of search in forums about a month and a half ago, and the response was the same then.
"forum search isn't planned atm"
Hmmm, this all reminds me of the Uk Government
