I just want to give kudos to Team Game of Drones. This is exactly how I for one would like to see player structures work! The proposed changes add much needed customisation and functionality to player structures that fosters a close connection between players and their space, and finally something worth fighting over!
I'm very much looking forward to building, customising, cherishing and destroying these new structures!
I do have some concerns in how they will fit with 'Fozzie Sov' though - I don't think many players would be too pleased to find that their beloved structure has fallen victim to a Trollceptor. I'm hoping that some information will become available on the proposed mechanics prior to the new sov system going online.
Great job with the concept so far guys! |

Have entosis module lock you into place and put a warp beacon on you, cyno style. Then remove notification for system under attack. There you go - empty systems get taken, occupied system get free kills. |

Looks like "Housing" to me.
TBH, I'm against this feature.
I played in DAoC. DAoC was best ever PvP MMO in the Universe. Mythic added Housing to DAoC, game ruined then I quitted.
Recently Blizzard added The Garrison to WoW. I quitted.
I don't want this feature in EVE, seriously... |

To personalize them, they're going to allow you to skin your driver's license photo on them.
Imagine all your friends pulling up to your station and seeing YOU there in all your hugeness!

Do we get a coffee table to put our stuffed Fedos on? Or, maybe with back yards we won't have to shoot the poor buggers in the first place! We can keep them out back and feed them dancing girls! (I knew dancing girls would have a use eventually!)
Then, then, then we could have a holiday station decoration contest and all the winners could be featured on a website thingy!

I have read the new proposed structure changes and i think it is finally a great idea of a change from CCP. A few unclear points :
How will the defense work ? RIght now there is a starbase defense skill which a player can use to control the turrets while being safe inside the POS shield. If there will not be a POS shield anymore will the ship be vulnerable while controlling the defense ?
Also, what will be the mechanism for reinforcing / posptoning the decisive battle inside a good TZ for the POS owners ?
And a small suggestion for the "fittable" defenses : please allow them to have DRONES as well !
Overall, very exciting news :)

Yeah, the last thing we want in Eve is customizable player structures. Thank God we don't already have those and if we did we sure as hell wouldn't want them to be improved in anyway.
