Is it just me, or is anyone else getting the feeling of Deja Vu with the current state of "omg, end of the world, i quit" complaints regarding the HP boost?
Same thing happened when drone changes were introduced reducing the overall amount of drones a ship could controll. There were threads everywhere "OMG, all my time spent training for Domi is now wasted", "OMG, my only DPS is from drones and now i will have less", "no more drones for me, i quit", blah blah and so on and on.
Speculations, calculations, debates, rebuttals. And what happened in the end? Domi is still a dronepwnmobile, overall drones still hold the same advantages/disadvantages, and do comparatively same amount of damage, and EvE population is still increasing despite the "omg i quit now" posts.
This is not a post to discuss HP boost cons/pros, there are many others for that.
This is a post to discuss people's behaviour and stubbornness to accept the change.... Yet, to quote someone famous: "Change is the only thing that is constant"

The drone 'panic' was quickly rebutted and shown that everything would be *mostly* the same. But this has absolutely no rebutal, read some of the other threads about it.
Drones didn't change anything but lag.
This will change gameplay fundamentally.

The point is . its human nature. If no compensation is made.. the complaining are right. If there are... devs should never release info like 50% HP boost without first knowing the compsesations. Othjerwise they must expect and live with the effect of that!

Its pretty scary to trust your skillpoint investment to someone else when they are doing major changes...but I guess it comes with the territory.

The only thing that really changed with the drone overhaul was that heavy drones were made slightly less effective against frigs and cruisers, while light and medium drones were actually made useful.
The reason for all the crying was for the stealth nerf Tuxford tried (and failed) to slip in, which was to only give damage bonuses to racial drones, not all drones (i.e. the Dominix would have been "10% drone hitpoints and 10% thermal drone damage per level of Gallente Battleship).
Also, some people are just idiots and couldn't see that you had exactly the same firepower and hitpoints as you did before (and then they added skills to increase that even further).

Yes and you just made a nother thread about it
I think the main problem is and perhaps some ***lente (<-- see the joke i made there?!) players do not fully understand that when drones got nerfed it was needed becous they were a tat bit to strong but the nerf did not killed the race, no it made them some what weaker (Alltho the toughness of drones got stronger). But lets be hounest, they still are the omfglookatmydroneswtfbbqyouruglyface.
Now with the extra armour and shield boost us Ammarien players can cry even more as we now have to chew down 50% more armour with out amazingly overpowerd lazOrz. Becous again lets be hounest, us Ammariens are so damn overpowerd in our leety laser mobiles that thats the reason 80% of the players in eve fly Amarr ships. I mean all i see is Armageddons, Mallers, Apocalypses, Arbitrators and frankly i am disgusted by it.
Nerf Amarr! I cant wait for people to finly skill to Caldari and Gallente ships becous its sad how little used they are :(

the major problem here isnt the changes, changes are good for the game. it is the way tuxford changes things, with no clue whatsoever to the ramifications to all other races but the race he uses.

It WILL be the end of the game... just like it was the end of the game the last time they did this exact same type of boost to ships overall hitpoints.
Oh wait....

Actually, it was something of a boost to the Ishtar - it can now hold more flights of drones... --- Our greatest glory is not in never failing, but in rising up every time we fail. - Emerson |

Or the major problem could be that people hear about the change, don't do any actual hands on testing, or look at any data and jump to a conclusion based on a knee jerk reaction.
FFS, Tux does not sit at his keyboard in an office all by himself and just invent random changes based on whims, and implement them all by himself.
To argue that Tux works alone is to argue from a 100% non-reality based position.

And smartbombs are less effective against drones now.
It boosted drone ships, and nerfed non-droneships without drone interfacing 5.

Just because you don't like the changes doesn't mean they aren't any good. This is clearly one step towards something a lot of people have been asking for! Eve will evolve over time, it always has, and it always will. Know that, and changes like this aren't such a big deal. It's time to stop insulting Tux for doing his job, as far as I'm concerned he's doing it quite well. Once this is live on Tranq for a month, the majority of the population will be fine with the change.
