1. I don't fly Caldari, but the Caracal seems to be the cruiser of choice virtually everywhere.
2. You can run as many L2 agent missions as you want, but once you have access to L3 agents for your corp, and can fly a Battlecruiser, you should move up to those. You can find other agents for the corp you work for by going to the info screen for the corp you're running missions for, and selecting their agents tab.
3. To PvP, you should head to a system rated .4-.1. Concord will not come and gank you for attacking someone there. However, it will lower your security standing for initiating combat, and sentry guns located at gates and stations will attack you. And they're hard. The best place to fight in .4-.1 is at asteroid belts. Once you make it in to a 0.0 system, there are no sentry guns and no security standing hit for attacking.
4. Not sure on that one, but you should experiment. Frigates are cheap.
5. You build ships of your own by training the appropriate mechanic skills, getting a blue print (original (BPO) or copy (BPC)) followed by the minerals you need in a station with the right facilities, then building the ship. It's usually not an effective way to go unless you're going to train up your production skills decently. More often, especially for smaller ships, you're better off just buying them off the market.
Hope that helps

Further to Beand's answers:
1: For PVE, get the caracal. The Moa requires higher skills to be effective with.
3: A kestrel is better at dealing damage, a merlin is better at surviving and tackling (webbing/scrambling the enemy) so your gang mates can kill them before they run away.

Edited by: Gloria Stitz on 20/10/2006 19:53:02 Caracal is better than moa in the same way that kestrel is better than merlin.
Play to your race's advantages at low skill points, don't start making things complicated too early in your career.
For players with similar SP, a caracal will own a moa and a kestrel will own merlin.
Its all about specialisation early, and then widening your abilities later.
This is only my opinion, and some will argue with it. As you can see above, those who know, won't.
edit: p.s. devs, can you get rid of the idiot tristan and give gallente a frig slightly better at being an incursus than an incursus is?

1. The caracal as said is the easiest to fit and fight with, but if you want survivability the MAO is your cruiser. It only needs a lot more skills to fly as effective as the caracal however.
2. well they are infinitive, but it is best to stay with one to rack up the LP and so get better chance on getting a better offer.
3. well any low sec space would be a good start, but expect to loose the few first fights you get. Also don't start a fight near a gate/station when you can't take the sentry damage. Or it will be a very short fight and your victim will run off with what is left over of your ship.
4. hmm only have pvped so far in interceptors and caracal. But a kestrel can give some nice damage, but it is also a pretty paperclip ship so if you are new at pvp I would go for the merlin. But also here it is that the merlin would need more skills to fight more effective (2 weaponsystems, missiles/hybrids)
5. I'm not the manufacturer, but all I know is you need a blueprint for it and the required minerals/items. Put those together in a factory and they'll come out combined as a ship.
