Ok - this is gonna be ridiculous now! How can it be possible that you get killed and podded in a 0.7 sec system by some PC-rats and no CONCORD shows up to toast their a**es ???
Story: Big minig ops for CFS in Khanid. Miners and haulers on their way.
Incoming 3 rats: Jadeafterglow (Caladari provisions), Nasser (State War Academy) and Zovirax (State War Academy). They target and start shooting at Industrials. They kill and pod Maharg, SeTI-Corporation.
No Concord shows up! No offense was done to the attackes by the mining team. No state of war was present (LOL, declare war on NPC-corps???)
The attackers: At least Jadeafterflow is a known alt of PsXDNS. Known PKer and member of CA. The others obviously alts of some other SINC, RC or whatever PKers.
OUR problem: the loss of an indy is not really tragic. The loss of a clone is annoying.
BUT NO CONCORD VS THIS RATS IN 0.7 IS A BLOODY JOKE!
NO GMs AND NO POLARIS TO SHOW UP AND CHECK AS LONG AS THE VICTIM WAS ON TO CHECK THE LOGS IS A BRASHNESS!
Do something! ban the bloddy exploiters! ***********************************************

First of all, how did they kill him, and what ships did they fly.Its very possible to kill an indy with 3 kestrels, and leave before the cops show up.all you need is teamwork, and a good even load out of cruise missles.

Ok - addendum:
There was another PKer in the sys be4. Forgot the name though. He attacked some of the ships with missiles but as soon as the first missile hit one of our ships CONCORD was in and had him with his BB gone to dust.
Some time later the above 3 guys came in and started the same fun but this time NO Concord showed till our indy was dust and the pilot podded. ***********************************************

Edited by: Slinky Redfoot on 02/11/2003 13:52:33 Still doesn't awnser my question.3 kestrels, thats 12 cruise missles.. 3 caracals and its 15.. what i'm trying to say is, they could have killed the indy in under 6 seconds and warped out, podding the driver with splash damage, which explains why concord never showed up.

Seeing as someone else tried it and did die, the system wasn't bugged at the time.. so it can't be considered a system-bug exploit, and thus you won't get very far if you do appeal. It was problaly a hit&runner.

... The police ships in the system take their time to patrol the scene of most recent crime. While they are doing it, any response to new crimes is likely to be delayed -- they simply don't drop what they consider their current 'job' immediately, but probably record it on their list of things to do next, much like the sentry guns.
Bring some escorts next time....

Also, just like to add.
Its when u fire the missiles that the police show up, its not when they actually make contact with the target.

BAH...What could have happened was someone was distracting concord at another area while this group came in and took out that indy.

Doesn't work like that Borg.
Not enough info given on this though to make it of any real use.

or it could have been the recent exploit i heard of, where someone with a highly negative sec rating flies round moons in the system attracting concord until the maximum number of police ships in the system is reached. once this happens the pirates are free to go and kill anyone they like without fear of being slaughtered by concord. fun. :) --
Go Here if my sig looks grey, and next time use a good browser. This is the way things have to be, the wise men wisely said. So we believed... but some did not, and though we never knew, the wise men wisely had them shot. |

Bring defending forces? Into 0.7 sec??? You wanna joke on me? Even if they are ganged they cant open fire on attacking forces that engage an indy for example, you should know this! damn, lost a cruiser to this very same issue some time ago when a player-rat destroyed gang-mates of me and after I engaged the rat I was killed by Concord.
Gang, hah!
And - as I already stated: the first attacker was engaged by Concord the moment he first attacked our mate. During the 2nd encounter NO CONCORD at all showed up. In 0.7! If they need some time in 0.5 .. ok ...
BTW - they had sec ratings of -0.7 after the action ... Dont know what sec they had be4
The very big problem i see is that with such tactics NOONE can ever mine savely in empire space! Are we now back in these days when a**holes start killing mining noobs?? thanks very much! ***********************************************

Where there is a will, there is a way.
With all the dumbing down of viable combat opportunities, including loss of viable opportunities near any sentry gun anywhere in space, it only makes sense that players are going to have to find new ways to avoid the cops to get some blood action.
There will come a point when the carebears will have to accept that making 0.0 safer means the difference between 0.0 and 1.0 for combat becomes marginal, and effective combat tactics will return to empire space where it's easier to find a target. | Join eve-webring.com to promote your site. |

While thats true in some cases, in Khanid theres a jump to a nice system which I recently visited called HED-GP, took my thorax there in hopes of intercepting something I could fight.
Theres a constant supply of battleships which would give these people ample chances of engaging in a worthy battle with some risk. No sentry guns, no concorde.
They obviously weren't interested in an worthy fight though. Gimps.

As lame as it may seem, a lone indy with a miner¦ and rare hull expanders is a very worthy fight, in profit terms.
Oh and serge, quoting a GM here: "not even 1.0 space is 100% garaunteed safety, and neither should it be"

Well, there IS a known bug in the sentry/concord code. If you attack a person with -10 outside a station, and this person is member of a noob corp, then the sentries will fire at YOU.

Whatthe heck? Did anyone talk about 0.0 in this threat?? I talk about 0.7 !! this is damned fu**in carebear land!
Nothing is 100% secure? what? 2 attacks: first one Concord insta-warps-in killing the rat, second try no concord? this is a Joke! Do we now have a 50% chance of gettin killed by each and every noob in game even if we mine in secure empire space??
As soon as CCP states that "secure" empire space is not secure anymore then I will shut up! ***********************************************
