I tried updating the game client. The update happened, Game cache was created. When I launched the game next using the launcher, it said the "Client is ready" on the bottom left of the Launcher, but game does not start. |

For me, the launcher keeps twitching between "Installing files" and "Downloading installer updates". On the rare occasions that it doesnt do that, it loads with "Installing files", that goes to full, and then the launcher closes. |

I had a similar problem: I made a completely new installment of EVE. I uninstalled and deleted all old EVE files, then downloaded the ~100MB installer from the website, installed it, started teh launcher, clicked "download everything" in settings and then nothing happened. I tried to restart the lauchner, but it wouldnt start again. I had to terminate 2 launcher.exe processes manually. Now the launcher works again and is downloading 7.65GB.
If newbies have this problem, it could be an obstacle for them. |

As above, the issue occurs when using the launcher, Steam, or the exefile.
eve.exe does appear in processes, but there's no 'game'.
Download all FIles' Does not matter it was never been on for me before... it didnt work in the first place, so i turned it on, and it still not work.

same issue. It downloads the files, tried to install, then says it failed. It actually worked once, and I was able to get in and set some long skills just in case. I tried to go back in just now, and its back to saying "update failed" even though it's already updated.. |

My game wouldn't launch after letting the launcher migrate the assets, and downloading the patch, and setting it to download all.
After searching in the install directory, I found rescache.exe, It said I was missing 7.53 GB of files, and started downloading.
It's gonna take at least a day on my slow internet, but if anybody who doesn't live in the 90s wants to try it, please tell us how it works out for you. |

My EVE is connected to a Steam account, but I was able to get online after some fiddling. Not sure if it will work for anyone else, but here's what I did.
- Shutdown/Restart system.
- Do not delete any client or game cache files.
- From the C:\Program Files (x86)\CCP\EVE folder, run the Repair Tool.
- Repair tool will say that it cannot delete files in the Shared Cache, but was able to complete step 7/7.
- From the C:\Program Files (x86)\CCP\EVE\bin folder, run exefile.
- Client loads.
At this point I still could not log on since I need the Steam ID, so I then launched EVE from Steam. Suddenly, I had to re-download 7.65 GB of updates, even though it had already updated earlier today. After that, the client was launching successfully from Steam.
Hopefully this helps someone in case they are having the same issue. Good luck. o7 |

I did that rescache.exe it found several corrupted files. 16 files are deleted.
My game is working now !
How is it possible with a clean install people get corrupted files ?
So this fixed the problem for me, thanks for mention it, i wanted to click that file earlier, i feel sorry i didnt :P
Isnt it maybe a good idea to run this file automatically after everypatch, or include it in the patch? |

Rescache.exe finds no corrupt files on my PC. It does want to download the entire game.. but I've done that 4 times now with all failures upon launching. I'm SICK of digging all over this website seeing suggestions dating back to the 14th.. seeing multiple repair tools suggested, multiple launchers. This is completely asinine and I'm done.
I'll be back in a few months to see if you have fixed this issue. |

This DoD stuff broke my EVE. I'm getting a "client update failed" message at the bottom of the launcher by the progress bar, and an error popup telling me the EVE launcher cannot update a directory from which processes are running, then tells me to close exefile.exe. |

For some odd reason, the only things I need to connect to for playing EVE are down. The german TS I normally connect to is down and I can't connect to EVE either, despite having tried everything in the book (and on the forums). A tracert to the eve server gave me a time out, so It's obviously not a client issue, but it might explain why some updates were a bit iffy as well. A tracert to our TS server didn't give me a time out but it doesn't connect... And I can connect to everything else. I went on and looked at Chribba's eve-offline server monitor site and there was some odd connection behavior a couple of hours ago, and it seems to have persisted up until now in my case. I've had launcher issues first and now this. All the suggestions made by the DEVs haven't helped yet, including but not limited to:
- rescache.exe run - reinstalling the client (my client worked properly before scylla) - manually downloading the new launcher file and reinstalling - manually downloading the new repair file and reinstalling - changing socket from port 26000 to 3274 (I could connect to either one before scylla) - enabling the cache download in the launcher - running either the exefile in bin OR the launcher in administrative mode |

This is happening to me too, but only at the very first start. When I close EvE and start it again a few hours later without shutting down my system, it's back to normal again, until I reboot. |

Hi guys.
The three most common issues we are seeing are:
Incorrect folder permissions. This can be fixed by right clicking the icon used to start the game and selecting run as administrator from the drop down list.
Corrupt resource cache files. This can be fixed by running rescache.exe from the EVE installation folder.
Antivirus software like Kaspersky blocking the launcher or the launching of the client. Troubleshooting tips for these issues and more can be found in the following link.

I think in my trying to get my launcher running that I used the repair tool which did bad things (tm) to my SharedCache.
So I could run up eve as long as I have DoD enabled unless I want approximately 7G download (it gets a little less each time I play).
Luckily I also had eve on my laptop and wasn't stupid enough to use the repair tool on it. So once the launcher settled down I have 1 working eve on my laptop and 2 non working eve on my PC. (4 if you include SiSi)
In linux the location of the shared cache will likely default to "~/.wine/drive_c/users/Public/Application Data/CCP/EVE/SharedCache" which is where I found mine. Meaning that for windows users it will be in
C:/users/Public/Application Data/CCP/EVE/SharedCache
Being in AUTZ and having internet of the quality usually referred to with expletives I decided to try copying the files from my laptop to my PC.
14.7G of unpacked files (66k files) later: OP success, both clients working again.
Caveats:
- don't have eve launcher or clients running (check for orphaned exe files)
- check the file permissions of the destination folders are ok
