Doesn't work for me anymore... Can't make a station the target of autopilot, only the system. Am I doing it wrong or has CCP scrapped it like 2 days after it was introduced?!?!

So why did it work yesterday? I have a station bookmarked and and click "Set Destination", should work, right? Yet doesn't...
EDIT: Works from market browser for example... That's extremely stupid though... WTH do I have stations bookmarked for, if I have to manually search them to be able to autopilot to them?
Sounds to me like you guys are doing stuff wrong, not me... |

Not sure it works on bookmarks. Try searching for the station in your "people and places" window or asset window and setting destination from there. |

The American public's reaction to the change was poor and the new cola was a major marketing failure. The subsequent reintroduction of Coke's original formula, re-branded as "Coca-Cola Classic", resulted in a significant gain in sales, leading to speculation that the introduction of the New Coke formula was just a marketing ploy |

Yes for some reason it doesn't work for the bookmarks or locations.
It does work though Assets and Market.
It would be nice to nip this particular paper cut early rather then let it linger for a few years.

I Think Zulu it's right here, been using Autopilot and works perfect so far, but a bookmark it's not a station per se but a *localization* in space, so maybe the issue comes from there.

If this issue is fixed fairly quickly now that it has been pointed out then that will be more evidence that CCP has started 'doing it right'.
If, however, this inconsistency / annoyance is left to fester for months/years, *that* would be ... sub-optimal. |

To clarify, I think it's unfair to say it's "half-arsed" but adding the same functionality to locations is something we should add to the backlog. Seeing as how the feature is well received it's prudent to expand on it, don't you think? :) |

The thing is: The bookmark glows yellow if you chose the station via other means anyway, so it's already connected in some way...

I don't think it at all unfair to call it "half-arsed".
Regardless of where in the UI the command "Set Destination" is invoked it must cause the same behavior.
Allowing commands which have different results depending on where in the UI they are invoked is the path to chaos.
Your response here reflects a code-based perspective rather than a User Experience / use-case view. The later must have a higher priority for quality software development results. |

There was no issue. The guy didnt set up his ap to the station properly. rather than doing it from assets or the market he did it via book marks, which will get you to the system location not the station itself. So everything is working as intended.
And yes autopiloting to bookmarks has not been implemented. |

Might also be a good time to clean up the autopilot management code so that future changes to legal autopilot targets etc hit all possible paths instead of just the 85% the developer was aware of
This reeks like a bad case of copy/paste code duplication. |

Bookmarks differentiate between type solar system and type station. If you bookmark a station, it gets a bookmark of type station.
That's the reason you can dock via bookmarks. |

Autopiloting to mission bookmarks has been implemented: open a mission, add waypoints for the target system and the agent's home station based on links in the mission dialogue, and you'll end up auto piloting back to station.
While "half arsed" may be a little severe, it is fair to say that the feature was not implemented in a manner consistent with the existing handling of bookmarks in the UI elsewhere in the game. I can see the obvious reason for not allowing autopilot waypoints to be set based on arbitrary bookmarks (i.e.: to avoid insta-bookmark spam around stargazes), no doubt the special treatment of station bookmarks is something that was merely overlooked during the sprints to bring us this new feature (which is, incidentally, awesome).

Did experiment - set to destination on old BM's gives a routing of system only (destination box is not outlined in white). However a new BM linked to a station does give a dock at destination (destination box is outlined in white - look closely). Soooo... old BM's appear to not be compatible - or the implementation was not implemented properly and QA failed (as usual). Incarna - Newest business example of mismanaged capital.

Found this one out after waking up to my freighter sitting on the Perimeter gate, where it had been for ~6hours. Docked, figured out the workaround in ~5min, and continued sleeping my way to fortune in Eve.

I had already bug reported this on the test server.
Since there was a part of the search drop down in People and Places to search for and bookmark stations, it seemed common sense that it should work for a bookmark you create from that interface.
In other words, if you search for a particular station in people and places, right click on the correct station and select "set destination" it will dock you there.
But if you instead simply create a permanent bookmark to add to your collection and later try to have it go there and dock, it does not work.
Now this was on Sisi, so perhaps things have changed.
Anyway, as I said, I bug reported it as it seemed obvious that it "should" work with any bookmark to a station. To kill the enemy and break their toys!
It's not so much a mission statement,-áit's more like a family motto. |

I'm still waiting for Autopilot that warps to a POS bookmark.
Of course the best autopilot would be if it could use jump bridges. Would be great if the autopilot could use titan and blackop bridges. I don't see why this should be a problem. Just a few lines added to the code, amirite?
Later on people will be wondering why EVE can't just do everything for them. We could just sit back and watch the EVE client do everything for us and we'll watch it like a movie. |
