Current Alert: OBE, JAN They have moved from Obe to Jan in the last hour. The map shows 15 ships. Take that number and double it for a more accurate count. Divide it by three, and that's how many capitol battleships you should expect at each Jump in Point. Nature of the Alert: JUMP IN POINT CAMPS Number and strength of the enemy: 40+ Each Jip being camped by at least 10-15 ships each. Zezman	Posted - 2003.11.02 20:31:00 - [3] Well, newest developments: STAND OFF IN VENAL The very same forces that have been camping Obe, and contronted forces from Fountain Alliance in Jan, have moved en mass to Venal, I am counting fleet strengths around 50+ Most of them are flying Caldari Capitol Ships, with a few of the other races ships intermingled. OOI though why was the deploying of mines a "last ditch effort" and why wasn't the deployment of almost 50 battleships and cruisers? Just interested in your strategic assessment of the two...as, obviously, if the mines were "Last ditch" the battleships and cruisers weren't... thus meaning that the NVA, by your definition, weren't in a "Last ditch attempt" situation. Bit of a silly statement all round really... I take it you aren't the official BC spokesperson?

Weeeeeell... if u throw a mine at a static target with enough force to simulate the required pressure to trigger the mine's explosive loadout (providing that u manage to get the right face of the mine to hit the static object... which will probably hard since they aren't balanced for throwing)... ...it may be considered an "Offensive Mine Use" ...its also kinda dumb to use a mine as an throwing weapon... or atleast it was what military instructors used to say a long time ago, dunno if they still say that nowdays ;)

Easy... if you mine your territory to hinder the enemy to move in, it¦s a defensive use of mines... if you mine the territory (certain chokepoints he has to move through) of the enemy it¦s an offensive use of mines.
