Ummm no idea what a battleship feels like to command.
But can I say my Atron is sweet, my Incursus is cool, and a Tristan makes my butt look big.

Depends on what feild the scorpion is the best in. ECM, yes of coarse, you cant beat 8 mid slots, but, what about combat side. Combat side - no, its not the best combat ship.

What for? There are plenty of ships out there which can kill a Scorpion. It's alll about configuration and skill.

No. After Stavros was killed he claimed the Raven to be a worthless Caldari piece of crap
Really depends on the situation. For a 1vs1 I'd go with a Raven or Tempest. For small battles a Scorpion. For big battles an Apoc.
Scorpion definately isn't the best ship. But the combination of
* low price
* doesn't require expensive modules
* hardly require any skill points at all
makes it very common.
I voted for Tempest myself. Already voted for Caracal for best cruiser.

If you don't beleive me that the Scorpion isnt the best combat ship, meaning NO ECM/Damps/weapon Dis, come on chaos and ill show you im right.

... Which, given EW is one of the Scorpion's strong points... will be as conclusive as proving a horse is bad runner by racing against it after you saw two of its legs off...
(voted for the Tempest btw, even though the Raven tempts me much...)

I know Tank, but why is ECM not part of the combat to you? Would think crippling your opponent is as important part of it as is the endurance and the ability to punch hard... o.O;

I think if you factor in the price, Scorpion is the best BS--for PvP. And yes...it all depends on the config, and the Scorp does not do as much damage as any of the level 2 BS. Then again...if the Scorp did do as much damage as a level 2 BS, it would...probably...be...a...level 2 BS? And cost 90 million. :P

Well Im in a scorp and have been for Months! Never lost a 1v1 yet so I guess it gets my vote. I toy with the idea of a Raven but then I am an ECM man at heart and would miss all those mids to be sure!

Its not the ship most of the time anyway, its the pilot who sucks at flying it.
Raven-Scorp take it for PvP if you know how to set them up right, pretty hard to beat.
I personally like Raven the best though, clouds of missles just make my day so much better. Especially when all I see in local is "ahhhhhhhhhh, ****, wtf, god dammit, you *******, not the pod, please not the pod!"

scorps are nasty.. only ever come across them shooting at me when im going from fa to empire.. solution 2 mwds and im outta there.. one day i may actually fight one but i tell you one thing its them that will have to come to me and my drones they are very protective over thier master
any ways i personally am in love with my megathron its what i call the all star.. does great at mining i can use 9 harvesters.... its great at ncp killing normally 5x30k is my fav
havent taken iit into battle but im sure it will do fine in a fleet engagement. one thing is for sure though its dam sexy and allows me to mine and my mate to haul in 0.0 space with no guard mix of heavy drones east ncp quickly enough to allow me to continue concentratin on the job in hand

the scorp isnt a full on damage dealing ship, but its no wet paper bag, it can take some amount of damage, fitted with a couple of hardeners and some nice ECM its most deff the best ship out there

hehe, you probably wouldn't ever lose in any other BS either. I've seen the Cult fight and i swear the are like the undead; they can't be killed.

What I don't understand is how a battleship pilot can fear to find himself in a 1vs1 against a ship with the fire power of a cruiser.
If I have my travel setup a Scorpion can't catch me unless it has 4 webbifiers on. But then it can't jam and scramble me...
If I have a 1vs1 setup there's no way a single Scorpion can kill me in less than 5 minutes...
If I have a "fleet combat setup" I've seriously done something very wrong if I find myself in a 1vs1 against a Scorpion...

Lol...... Have you ever faught a scorp with 4 Missile launchers and 2 Tachyons before?!?! You'd die within 5min let me tell you.
Jam your sensors, Get within 20k of you (you range is 15k now btw) so i stay at 18-19k warp scramble you, switch my 2 abs on to stay at 18-19k, then i just let loose with the cruise missiles + 2 tachyons, your shields go down with the first 2 volleys of tachys and cruise, 2 more and *BANG* goes your ship. If you have a shield booster, try using it against 4x300dmg and 2x200-300dmg.
So per volley you take 1600 damage... while being unable to warp away, and if you use drones, they die with 1/2 Cruise missiles hitting your hull....... anywho.... you just need to know how to use a scorp i guess

In a fleet battle, it isn't the Scorpions firepower that kills you.
It's ability to jam one ship, warp-jam 2 ships, boost it's own shields, and launch a barrage of missiles at the same time.
The jammed ship can't do much so it warps away, the 2 ships that are warp-jammed stop thinking about shooting and start looking for a way out.
Meanwhile one of them is on the receiving end of your missiles and can't warp away even at +20km range due to the warp disruption of the missiles explosion.

1600 damage is [b]nothing[b] in such a long volley.
2 AB's won't be enough to stay at right range.
As for cruisers vs Scorpion
A Caracal with 5 arbalest launchers will deal more damage/second than a Scorp with that setup
