Study complete.
Here's a simpler idea. Get a bunch of friends at Comic-Con and stand hidden on one side of a doorway. When people come through, pelt them with cabbages or shoot them with Nerf guns. The unsuspecting conference attendees who take the brunt of your attack are not EVE players. The people who anticipate the attacks and come through every door ducking, or at a full sprint, are the EVE players. The ones who bring non-EVE-playing friends and send him through every door first, are the really pro EVE players. |

I'm currently writing an anthropological research paper at my uni about common community consciousness.
Let's assume that if a European person hears about an event "Invasion of Normandy" he/she will identify it with WWII, therefore it is possible to say that different communities have different community consciousness. I'm studying the same in EVE. If possible could you list phrases/dates/names/etc. (for example 'Ha*l H*tler'/ 9/11 / ******) which are understandable by the majority of the population in EVE. Game terms similar to DPS/DEBUFF/etc. are not to be listed.
Thank you for reading this post. If you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask! Here's what you do. Go to any huge gathering of nerds, like Comic-con. Stand on a chair. Shout "GRRRRRR". Sounds like an excellent plan! xD

As a frequent comic con attendee I can confirm that Jenn has correctly described the appropriate way to locate Eve Players.

Some think of an amarr ship. Some think of a knight in armor.
Me... 65 tons of heavy mech with LRMs, SRMs, medium lasers and MGs that looks surprisingly like an armored Veritech or Stinger.
Go figure. |

Everytime I watch game of Thrones and someone talks about a 'Direwolf' I expect a 100 ton Clan mech to show up and kill everyone lol.

Based on the initial post I assumed that you were looking for well known events. Reading the thread many of the terms are not that but rather game relevant slang. Do you have any preference on this?

Well although I said that game relevant slang is not something I'm searching for, people still post it alongside with names of important people or actual references for game events, so I don't mind, because I will still use them in a glossary I will provide in the appendix of my work =) |
