Heh, I ran into H4x0 once. He logged off after saying that was it, this was less than 2hrs from server going down, so it was plausible. I flew in to a station graveyard to try out combat in my brand new first cruiser. Of course I made the mistake of not keeping my eye on the local channel. He came back online and I was still at the jump in point of the graveyard, so he warped in right on top of me.
I had no chance, he warp scrambled me in his favorite ship, a Scorpion. He brought my shields to nothing and then opened a chat with me.
He asked for something like 5 million. I told him I'm a newb, and through his questions he learned I had crap for rare items on my ship and I told him I had only 2mil in my account, which was true.
He finally was nice enough to give me the option of only needing to pay 2mil instead or it was going to be the end of my uninsured 6+mil ship. That one week insurance then was crap for a causal player.
After I wired the money to him, he pulled off and left me along the rest of the night. In the end, he listened good and reasoned well. He even offered to buy any rare items I might find. I did find a LiTe booster, forgot its name, for 1 million, but I turned it down at the time.
Unfortunatly, this was my 3rd week playing and the loss of my account money really put a downer on the game and I quit playing as of still today, about a month.
I'm trying to get back into it. It also wasn't all the pirates fault. I also got sick of the small roids and all the special containers, like cache ones, never having anything in them. Not once, even at an abandoned station I found later that had no activity.
So I'd waste an hr slowly taking out the small guys across the wreckage field I just payed the toll to getting little things from the regular containers and finally taking out 17k pirates to get to the good containers to find nothing in them, really pisted me off. I mean how long dos it take them to respawn something, no one else was there for over an hr, then it sounded like by asking people that they are bugged. Is this true?
