Take your DPS and multiply it by the ROF of your guns (assuming they are all the same gun).
DPS = 100 rof = 2.00
alpha = 100[damage/second] * 2.00[seconds] = 200[damage] ------------- Stop whining. |

Download Here
this shows stacking damage, Average Damager per clip, and the alpha stirke of the 1st 50 shots,
btw i woudn't trust Quick fits DPS calculations, it said that my sleipnir with auto cannons had under 500 dps >.>

Edited by: Jim McGregor on 23/10/2006 19:40:32 You can use NB's excel sheet too, and set the time to show damage after 1 second.

Your quickfit DPS is wrong. 15*8.879=133.187*7=932.295(Alpha)/7.19=129.666 DPS 129.666*7.19=932.295

I can't see the problem...
Look your ammo damage. Multiply it for your damage mod. Multiply it for the number of turrets/launcher you have.
That is the raw alpha strike you deliver, if you want the DPS just divide the alpha strike / rof.
Should and it always worked like this

Most people who blame QuickFit for beeing wrong about damage are simply reading the "Stats" window wrong. To get the raw DPS of your ship you have to read under "Damage per second on structure", since structure has 0 resists. The "Average DPS" means how much damage your ship will do on a ship with the resistances you entered into the resist field.
Correctly used Quickfit is pretty much always right.

Or just use damage mod * # guns * ammo damage :)

Alpha Strike = the damage done by a single volley of all weapons on board a ship, as opposed to the Damage Per Second (DPS).
To illustrate- an Autocannon weapon has a very low alpha strike- each individual shot is unimpressive, but it has a high enough rate of fire that it's overall DPS is respectable. Conversly, an Artillery weapon has a very good alpha strike- that is, the damage it does per shot is very good. However, it's rate of fire is not all that good, so it's overall DPS is sitting on average.
Also: Alpha Strike -----------------------------------------------

Ahh good times in Mechwarrior when you fit a bunch of ER Lasers, alpha strike and blowup your reactor in the massive heat release.
Oh how the Amarrians would cry
