Does AURORA ever move their important characters around? If they do.... can I.. kill them? I'm not asking for permission, just wondering if it is POSSIBLE. And, if done, if it will have non-destructive consequences for the arc!

Nothing wrong in a radical Minmatar suicide-bombing an Amarr official, now is there? Not to the Minmatar it isn't.

That depends upon what you mean by important.
Characters involved in arcs can and do move around in space, and can be killed. A Tetrimon Grand Master was once assassinated by players, for example.
If you mean people like the five (currently four ) Amarrian heirs though, you're out of luck. Their predecessors did appear at Emperor Doriam II's coronation, but no weapons were allowed at the ultra-secret location, and they were due to commit suicide anyway. It's unlikely that players would ever be allowed to get into a postion to kill them or people like Karin Midular. And if they did, there would soon be a replacement for them anyway (within three years or so).

I think Karen Midular is a myth - or someone lost the PW to the account.
If she should undock, I think she'll visit her medical facilities quickly. --*=*=*--
The cause for this is not yet known, but we do have a possible fix in testing. by Sharkbait | 2006.09.20 |

Yes, I'd like to see the Federation Sentate move around in space...
Put them all on a Luxury Yacht for a lovely cruise around Federation space, and let the location slip in the Caldari channel.

If an event team member is not supposed to die, they will not die. They have sort of "cheat" commands to heal their ships and teleport and used them a lot during events like the one where Serpentis stole a titan. In that case, the outcome of the event was scripted - the result was decided BEFORE the event and the players were only there to watch and pretend they could make a difference.
If you encounter an events guy and you can attack (for example it's low sec or 0.0), you're perfectly fine to kill them ... if you can. If a drug smuggler is running through the system and you kill him, the news will report that the drug smuggler was killed. If you don't, it'll report that the drug smuggler was let through. In most events, the outcome is not predetermined and you can indeed affect a storyline arc by intervening.
If you manage to disrupt an event in a way that is not forseen, you may get in trouble for ruining an event. There's a sticky at the top of this forum with regard that. I'm not exactly sure what situations would be considered disrupting the event though, unless they mean spamming local or something - anything else could be taken in an in-game context and there shouldn't be anything wrong with it.

Right. Seems we better clear up a few things here. :)

This is not true. We never use "cheat" commands during events. That would ruin the entire event. If an event dont fall out as expected, the producer will have to adapt upcoming event to the outcome of the prior event.

My apologies. A friend of mine that I trust implicitly said he saw at least one actor at the event vanish while webbed and scrambled and disappear from local, and at the same time appear in a nearby system. These are the same guys that spawned items that didn't exist and fitted them to their ships for the event (this is where the first Tech 2 shield hardeners came from). And according to multiple reports from people at the event, the titan itself was losing HP fast (for a titan) and was miraculously healed numerous times.
I'm sure the outcome of events is dynamic and I thoroughly enjoyed the one I was part of two years back but I've heard some naughty things from people I trust about that one particular event.
