Anyone else having this problem? I've had 2 incidents where an alliance member, who has been at the POS multiple times the same night, got randomly attacked by it. Its obviously a bug, is there some workaround for it to ensure this doesn't happen?

Do you have the agressive act check box checked?

When Mercenary Coallition was attacking F4 there was a POS randomly attacking alliance people even though the standings were properly set.
My corp lost a vulture to it. He was reimbursed by the GMs. Definately petition it.

If a pos is set to attack on aggression, it will shoot anyone who agresses even if they are in your own corp. It's just like CONCORD in the way it acts except that occasionally it also gets touchy about remote repping and shoots friendly carriers. |

Just to be safe, make sure your POS isn't set to shoot on agro. If it already was set as such then petition it.

Yes, uncheck the Agrro box...as looting a can outside a once friendly POS can ruin a good day...

I have it set currently set for if standing dropping, other sec stat dropping, or at war. Allow alliance is checked. Can I also then leave it to attack standing less than 10.0 so it will blast anyone who approaches excluding alliance members, or will that shoot them also?
BTW the guy who got shot at was reimbursed, so yah I guess they acknowledge that its a bug. I just want to be sure I can have it set to shoot at anyone not in the alliance.

Argh, these POS gunners are soooo frakkin STUPID!! 
There are only two boxes that I ever play with:
Set the POS to attack anyone of less than XXX standing. So, if you tell it to shoot at everyone who has a 5.0 standing or less, that takes care of pretty much 99.99998% of EVE.
The other 0.00002% are covered by "Attack if at War."
Other than that, I leave those other boxes alone.
