5 SoF (Vexor/Rupture/Blackbird/Caracal/Merlin) jump in at the spot I was camping with my Crow. I engage the Merlin. The Vexor launches his drones for 20 seconds, the Rupture attempts a few hits, the Blackbird try to jam, and the Caracal just sits there.
When the Merlin gets into armor, Caracal Rupture & Vexor warp out, leaving the BB alone trying to help the Merlin, and me curious about what they will pull out of their hat. Well, I'll never know since these fierce warriors did'n show up again.
I'am not here to teach you how to counter a ceptor, but you had enough assets to use tactics which could have AT LEAST prevented the loss of your frigate.
Kudos to the rest of the SoF gang for abandoning their corpmates despite fighting 5vs1. IMHO not standing by the people you fly with is one of the most despicable acts.
I don't remember the BB's pilot name, but if he get back to me I'll give him a little present to reward his commendable attitude.

Do you imply that IAC doesn't use lone ceptors to tackle targets while backup is on way?
The story makes it look like the four cruisers run merely from your lone ship.
So, why you didn't get curious enough to try and contact them, asking for motives for their tactical moves? Hell, I would be really interested if such thing happened to me ever. Might be more fruitful approach than bringing your issues on forums right away.

It was in Doril, they jumped in from Sendaya and had only 2 other gates to quickly scout and see that I was the only PRI around at that time, in Doril and adjacent systems. Having 5 ships when I could only tackle one of them at a time hardly makes this a difficult task. But even that is beyond the point.
The point is that they could have pulled out many tricks to save their Merlin and repel me. Instead, they dumped the frig and the BB which was attempting to protect it. Only after the Merlin went down did the BB leave, and so did he by his own merit by finally jamming me. I have no crystal ball and don't know what happened in the heads of the 3 players who left.
The main reason this has landed on forums is because I'am curious to see if this triggers any SoF's directors statement about such behavior. Frankly, would I have been in the pants of that Merlin or BB, I would'n fly any additional minute with people showing such a lack of solidarity with their own people.

Lol wow, i have become slightly famous hmm not good, never thought that would reach a forum. Your ceptor was one fast little thing. tbh i never put much thought into the event apart from "hmmm i need to get alot better at pvp". probably confused things when i chased after you so in hindsight probably my own fault. ah well nevermind, one of those things and at the end of the day its a game.

I know perfectly well it's a game, that's why I'am not afraid to loose if it means learning something. That said, you and the BB bear no fault whatsoever on the contrary. You fought within the possibilities of your skills, ship, setup and situation, and the guy in the BB faithfully stood at your side.
A shame your other gang members did'n have the tenure you both displayed. With a bit of brain and team work you could have obliged me to steer away. Anyhow, the main issue is not to let your corp get rotten by people who don't stand for their friends. And in this sense, your directors would be well advised to reign in this issue. It takes quite a particular mindset to leave friends in the s**t like that, and it wasn't one or two guys, but 3 at the same time. You won't go anywhere PvP'ing that way. Except when facing overwhelming odds, you win or loose togheter.

Maybe they had valuable bpo's in the hold of one of the cruisers. In that case, sacrificing a frig isn't so bad. They were coming from empire to low sec so this is a possibility.
Maybe they are newb pvp'ers and the gang lead warped gang and wasn't aware that the frigate was tackled.
Just a few I came up with in a few seconds.
