I've moved down to null sec finally, and I'm wondering which ship I should train for so that I can properly rat and complete combat sights!
I've narrowed my list down to a blaster rohk and a torpedo raven, both ships have amazing ISK/h ratios, but which one is better, and please show fits!
And I'm in angel cartel space |

Assuming everything your going to hit is going to be a BC or larger, then either weapon choice will be fine.
Personally I would go for the Torp Raven - the extra range makes it bit easier to engage the swarms while the blaster Rohk is a bit hard to do on your own.
However given the choice between long range and short range combat with NPC's (difference of 150km+ to ~10km), its almost always better to go long range.
Once upon a time the Golem had a Raven hull and it looked good. Then it transformed into a plataduck. The end.

A torpedo raven ? How can you fit enough tank to support the incoming damage from the short distance with your torpedoes ? Maybe it's possible but most of the times, raven are fitted with a LMJD, a sensor booster and cruise missiles. No idea about the blaster Rokh though.

But I'm dead serious, look at the space corp/alliance inhabits, we are in cartel space...
And I want to fit the raven with a prop mod other than a LMJJ, like a MWD....
Plus I want to do local DED and combat sights.
I was thinking that if I use light drones like hobs II to take out frigs and destroyers and maybe fit a target painter

Neither. Rokh is meh for PVE and torpedoes can't hit the broad side of a planet. |

Cruise Raven will work significantly better than either

Raven.
PVP folks kind of go to another place when there is a raven on d-scan. They know it's a trap. They know it's a bad idea. but.... but...

Oh, god. No. No. No.
MJD sebo cruise Raven, m8. Angels require explosive damage and deal explosive damage. Shields are naturally good vs explosive, and a Raven is not locked into kinetic/thermal like the Rohk.
Torpedoes are too short range and will lose a lot of dps because of crappy application stats. Cruise missiles, even T2 dps ammo will apply really well. Just putter around at 100-120km and blap away. With really good skills you will one-shot BCs, and rip through everything else. Furthermore, being at 100km from the warp in beacons means you are less likely to have some nerd in an interceptor land right on top of you before you can warp out, and even if you are really unlucky, you can just MJD away. This will also put you outside the rats' range. Once they close, MJD away.
Raven also has a semi-decent drone bay. Enough space for 3 flights of small drones, or 1 medium and 1 small.

I once tried a blaster rokh in angel space, nope.
Range is your friend against the angels.
So, I would say neither and get cruise missles w/ MJD.
The problem is that up close, the angels have devastating dps at close range and without a pimp tank, it is easy to get overwhelmed in a BS. |

Angel Anom rats do an irritating amount of EM actually. Invuln + EM + Explosive gives the best 3-hardener profile from memory.
NB: Pith explosive hardeners are ridiculously cheap in Jita these days. You can buy an A-type in Jita right now for under 20M.

Train into a cruise fitted Typhoon. Natural resists and range = winning. Typhoons are fun for PvP and can be armor or shield fit.
If you HAVE to fit a Rokh, fit 350 rails If you HAVE to fit a Raven, fit cruise. |

Angels send in EM also. you only have to tank 1 hole with an armor tank phoon.

You won't be able to hit **** in a blaster rohk while moving at 45m/s. Unless your rohk is bricked out on tracking enhancers and computers over traditional tank and magstabs. The reason why the raven is flown primarily in PVE is because it was designed exactly for that purpose. Its a bear hotel, and the damage application, range, tank and DPS are pretty much built into its hull. Giving newer players an essentially carefree experience for very minimal levels of skills trained for it.
Rohk is going to be the opposite of everything the raven is. You'll need massive fitting skills, tons of EFT theory and a lot of patience for literally no reason when it comes to other options. The rohk is a rail platform, where extreme distances give it a pseudo tracking bonus. When it's 20-40km on-top of smaller targets you aren't getting anything done. |
