Clipped Wings mental state, not good at the best of times, began to slip after the incident with the Band of Brothers. He became more confused and incoherent, and once at dinner he lost control and had a delirium. Lacrimae became hysterical and with difficulty Clipped Wings was persuaded to allow the poor woman to sleep in a separate room on the grounds that SHE was not well. Once he claimed that NÆnial Hanaj, a respected advisor, was his mistress and that Lacrimae was an imposter. NÆnial Hanaj left the alliance soon after, citing the well-being of his corporation. The doctors, friends of Ichabod CraneÆs, thought that Clipped Wings suffered from gout, which had first attacked his feet, but had ôflown to his brain and lodged there.ö The treatments they attempted were not successful, and Clipped Wings descent into madness continued unabated.
It was during this time that Ichabod Crane took almost total control, as he was able to convince the mentally unstable Clipped Wings to say and do virtually anything he wanted. When the goons began their war against the Black Reign Syndicate, he kept 3FA out, citing the presence of Lotka Volterra (LV). Many in the alliance urged Clipped Wings to support the goons, even if it meant going against LV, as they lived far away and were a much smaller threat. But Ichabod Crane had bigger plans, and so 3FA stayed out of the fight, and their last friendly relationship in Syndicate was broken.
Having stripped 3FA of its last true ally, Ichabod Crane then had Clipped Wings pull LFC out of the alliance it had helped to found. The alliance, and the EVE community at large, was stunned. Morale in the alliance dropped to an all-time low as the members watched endless LFC convoys move out of the space they had lived in and protected for so long. It quickly became apparent that the reason LFC stayed out of the recent conflict was because Ichabod Crane wanted LFC to join LV, and there was no way he was going to mess that up just to support the goons.
Then Ichabod Crane hit upon his masterstroke: he had Clipped Wings send out a broadcast to the EVE universe announcing that LFC had left. The effect of this was devastating: a combined force of Black Reign Syndicate, Cult of War, and even some Dusk and Dawn showed up a few days later. A pitched battle ensued, in which the weakened 3FA forces were utterly defeated. The Cult of War alliance, which had become vastly more skilled and effective since their previous encounters with 3FA, quickly moved in and dominated the space.
The Clipped Wings of today is a shadow of his former self. He still maintains his ôcult of personalityö, but in truth is little more than a puppet dancing to Ichabod CraneÆs tune. It is unclear whether he can still maintain his hold on LFC, or whether Ichabod CraneÆs ambitions will spell the end of that great corporation, as it very nearly did the 3FA alliance. ----
Zyta Eke is an historian and member of the Our Brothers Five corporation. She is viewed by many as being a dreadful historian, taking unbelievable liberties with the truth and riddling her papers with plagiarized and totally fabricated sections. One of her teachers was quoted as saying: ôThis woman should be hunted down and killed, for her wanton disregard for truth, decency, and grammar. She is a plague upon the universe.ö

Clipped Wings was born a simple man, but came to rule one of the oldest and least successful alliances in all of EVE: the 3rd Front Alliance (3FA). Some call him ôthe greatest villain that ever was bornö, others ôthe greatest ass, and the greatest beast in the whole universeö, and many wished that ôhe may die and that we may all go about with smiling faces and glad heartsö. Unoriginal quotes to be sure, but indicative of the strong feelings that this man evoked.
Clipped Wings was a difficult man. He was lethargic and lacked the ability to concentrate on any task. At times he would be silent and morose, and when he was angry he became obstinate and sullen. But his charisma cannot be denied: for every person that hated him, there were two more whose devotion was absolute. His ability to instill a sense of hero worship in some was his greatest strength.
Clipped Wings was not a brilliant man: even his friends often referred to him as being ôpassive of intellectö. So during his time at the helm of 3FA, he relied heavily on his advisors. His friend and chief advisor was the vain and pompous Ichabod Crane, who regarded himself as ôextremely handsomeö, but who most considered rather plain and almost homely. It was IchabodÆs council that Clipped Wings took on nearly every matter, often ignoring advisors with decades of political experience. It is thought by many that Clipped Wings was infatuated with Ichabod Crane, and that Ichabod manipulated the young manÆs immature emotions to gain the control and power he desired.
His control was not absolute, however, and occasionally the wise council of his other advisors could not be ignored. The history of 3FA can seem very odd at first, but if you consider it to be a battle between two opposing forces it begins to make more sense. The alliance lurched drunkenly from one disaster to another, not only because of incompetent leadership, but because there were several mutually incompatible goals being pursued at the same time.
One example was 3FAÆs relationship with the Goonswarm. Ichabod Crane hated the goons, and constantly pushed for the non-aggression pact between the two alliances to be broken. His diatribes against the goons were well-known by members of the alliance, and during the Band of Brothers invasion he worked hard to ensure that the alliance did not help the goons in any way. But Clipped WingsÆ other advisors recognized that war with the goons was not in the best interest of the alliance, given their proximity in Syndicate, and it was through their tireless efforts that a tenuous friendship was maintained. This infuriated Ichabod Crane, who perhaps feared that his control over Clipped Wings might be slipping.
One needs only look at the turnover of corporations within the alliance to understand the stress this placed on its members. In the long history of 3FA only one thing remains constant: LFC, the corporation ran by Clipped WingsÆ mistress, Lacrimae. It is baffling to some that Clipped Wings could not see the problem, as corporations came and went around him, but you have to remember that Clipped Wings was isolated in many ways. Ichabod Crane was intensely over-protective, always whispering Clipped WingsÆ praises and blaming all their troubles on ôdivisive elementsö within the alliance. It is possible that Clipped Wings truly believed that none of it was his fault.

I must admit, i am having trouble judging whether your intent here is sarcasm or to blame me and my 'mentally enfeebled' friend on your own problems. I'll assume the latter, and ask what it is exactly that you hope to achieve with this work of creative writing? Might I ask, Shyra Storm, is that you?
So lets take it from the top:
1) My vocal opinions of the goons rarely had any impact on the decisions of the alliance. And they certainly never drove a wedge between 3FA and OHGOD, do you think they considered 3rd Front when they made their decision to go south, or north before that?
2) We chose to stay out of the conflict between goons and LV because both were 3FA allies, and as is the custom of such matters, its easier to stay neutral than get tangled up in a mess of politics. If you want to make blatantly paranoid suggestions to the contrary that is your misguided parogative.
3) 3FA's enemies descended on it because the corp that carried it for so long left, and they saw an opportunity to assault a weakened alliance with little percieved risk. Our slipping out quietly into the night without a bye nor leave wouldnt have changed that fact in the slightest.
Seeing you here trying to blame your situation on me and mine is frankly dissapointing, I thought more of you than to think you'd make sullen remarks like this. I seriously doubt this post was sanctioned by 3FA command, but you've done the alliance no favours by making it. -

I, Zyta Eke, do apologize most profusely and without condition for the slanderous, untrue, and downright despicable lies that I wrote above. I am a very bad person, and should be flogged repeatedly for my crimes. Clipped Wings is a brilliant man, whose generous and kind spirit is a model for us all. Ichabod Crane is like a great big cuddly teddy bear, whose every word fills me with joy and a desire to do better. And Lacrimae is a goddess of purity and virtue, at whose feet I am unworthy even to grovel.
Can you unban me from the 3FA alliance forums now, Lacrimae?

This feels like Deja Vu.
Zyta, there is someone I know, whom I think you should meet. You may recognize the name "Shyra Storm", I am certain you'd hit it off just fine together, if nothing else, you have me to obsess about.
As for your story, and your allegations, you won't be the first, nor the last to slander nor me nor Ichabod, however, it's the first time I've seen Lacrimae being dragged into it. Class act, Zyta, shows with all clarity why you ran for Trinity position in 3FA, after LFC so shamefully left.
Now, were I particularly nasty, I would surmise that your diatribe was founded on me rejecting you, when you, 4 days after LFC leaving 3FA, sent me a mail asking LFC to return to help kick out the invaders...You surely remember, accusing LFC's leaving post of weakening 3FA's power. In fact, I might even speculate that your post was made as an attempt to alleviate yourself of any of the responsebility you were denied for so long under my malevolent meat-puppet rule. Fortunately for you, you now have both power unlimited and the right to post whatever you want, as long as it is for the best of 3FA. I applaud your maturity, your ability to put the alliance's values and interests before you own...Surely, you should have been brought to power long ago. You're born to lead. I wonder why you only rose to power after the evil empire left the building.
So, where to begin, and where to end. I am unsure of either, as clearly you've been a part of 3FA for so long that you know my innermost being, the workings of the alliance, so of any, you could appreciate the time I spent running 3FA into the ground at every turn. I am left, bereft of words, after your precise, objective analysis, and I can do naught but bow down to your words.
...Oh, wait.
To summarize;
Zyta, your sauce is weak.

While I generally make a point of refraining from posting on the EVE-O forums, I decided to make an exception to my rule in this instance.
I'm somewhat puzzled by this unwarranted attack on Clipped by you, Zyta. As someone who worked closely with him, Zhealous, Lacrimae, Carnicx, Ichabod, and others, I can only say that the picture painted here is as far-fetched as the old saw about the moon being made of green cheese.
Such an attempt at character assassination is contemptible at best.

First and foremost: The rest of the alliance learned about Zytas message here at about the same time as everybody else. It's not sanctioned by 3FA and to the best of my knowledge few if any would agree with what was written above.
Originally by: Ichabod Crane Sorry to say it Crisis, but thats one hell of a weak copout excuse.
Ichabod - what would you have Crisis do? Get into a time machine and persuade Zyta not to post anything? ;-) Neither Crisis, nor anybody else has any power to keep someone from posting any message here.
We can only make clear that it is not representative - it surely doesn't represent my opinion.
I have no idea where that message from Zyta came from. I have known Zyta as a nice guy who put quite a bit of effort into managing an alliance during very troubling and stressful times. He wrote an apology on alliance forum minutes after posting the start of this thread (wrong forum of course :-) - but by now repeated in the right place).

I dont recall suggesting he do anything Glengrant, I merely point out that washing your hands of any responsibility for the slanderous remarks made here is no way to deal with the fact that they were made by a 3rd Front member, and the fallout of which has had a detrimental affect on you as a whole. Simply put, Zyta dug a hole for himself and dragged the alliance in with him.
You'll forgive me if I express my dismay at that fact, I just feel more couldve been said and done on the part of 3FA. Ive nothing against Crisis or his methods, just my personal opinion.
Zyta's apology however, has a fundamental lack of sincerity. He's burnt his bridges, and he'll have to live with that.
Good luck to the rest of you. -

I'm afraid at this point there is not much of a whole left. I can well understand your dismay at that message - but Crisis remark is not a weak copout excuse is all I'm saying.
Zyta wrote that message without confering with anybody and we found out after the fact close to the same time as you did. Most of what is left of the alliance is busy moving their asstes out of Y4Y - instead of reading messages here or there.
Zyta stepped down as Trinity at the same as writing above remark - which leaves Crisis as the sole remaining manager after Mark left already.
So he did not actually write it as a representative of 3FA and nobody is bothering with debating about throwing him out because there is not much left to throw him out of. :-(
Originally by: Ichabod Crane Simply put, Zyta dug a hole for himself and dragged the alliance in with him.
If that is all that is needed to drag down an alliance into a hole - all alliances are doomed ;-) - there will always be somebody posting stupid messages.

You are forgiven for not being up-to-date about the state of the alliance. Only a very few will have read Zytas remark on the 3FA forum at all - it has gone very quiet during the last few days.

First off original poster, our PVP hasnt vastly increased in effectiveness, we just hadnt fully attacked you before, usualy we have at least 3 alliances war decced at any one time, so we are usualy spreading our love to many parties.
When we invaded your space it was just the one target, so you had our full force in your old space.
Shame you guys were already low in morale as we did truthfully expect more resistance, but no smack, and convos were always pleasent so thanks for that.
D2 that was attacking you the day we moved in were nothing to do with us, and we engaged and killed most of them before then pretty much 100% destroying your fleet in PC9, including your carrier loss.
All in all a pleasant war, shame we didnt get a few more fights, but fun none the less, thanks for being good sports about it all, havnt heard anything negative said by any of your pilots so respect for that.
Oh and thanks for the space

Op you cant take out ayour personal frustration on eve-o in such a manner. It might get things of your chest but it makes your whole alliance look bad. When I say alliance thats a lot of real people sitting on their screens reading this and feeling louzy... so even if what you wrote is true, its best not to publicize such facts because you hurt your friends.
Also if your alliance loses space to somebnody and that somebody says nothing in the forums why should you say it?
Anyway... not my business I guess... Arguably my opinions represent to an extent the opinions of my alliance and in particular circumstances give rise to a valid "casus belli" claim. |

Zyta,
Are you Shyra Storm in disguise? Do the two of you get together to share betel nut and insane root?
Anyone who has had contact with 3FA or with Clipped Wings -- even our enemies -- knows that all that you have said is naught but libel and character assassination, and that you are a buffoon.
As for Lacrimae returning your access to the forums she created and hosts, perhaps there is a lesson in this involving the hand that feeds you and what not to do to it. Assuming, that is, that the lice haven't burrowed so deeply into your brain that you are as incapable of absorbing such simple truths as you are capable of spouting outrageous lies.

OP, get a grip, and get some history in 3FA before u start slandering LFC and its leaders.
If it werent for LFC the alliance ur in would be history long before u and ur corp joined. Running 3FA all this time wear ppl out. And i for one dont blame them for being frustrated.
LFC was/is 3FA. And the "old timers" in Syndicate, including me, knows this. As soon as LFC left u got invaded by BLK and CoW. They knew they could beat u now. The only corp that held 3FA together was LFC. In good or bad, it doesnt matter in the end. LFC (3FA) now consider me a personal enemy, but i dont blame them for leaving. They should have done so ages ago. They deserve better.
Im pretty sure that LFC agrees that the last year in 3FA has been a dance on roses compared to earlier. At least i assume that. Being a x-3FA'er i know pretty much about the past in the alliance. And it has gone through a lot. Siege after siege after siege. Long before your corp even were created (i bet. i am at work now and hard to confirm ).
And now u slander them for being mentals and whatever. Patetic. I for one would be mental if i were to hold together 3FA all this time.
And btw, define successfull alliance. The ones who hold loads of territory and die after a year or 2, or those who manage to stick to a place for 3 years in a row.

Galnet is great, what an entertaining read
I'd just like to clear things up, 3FA was always on our hit list ever since moving to the area, originally just because you were a perfectly placed target, altho we never had much of an aspiration to take your space - just hopefully provide entertainment on both sides via war decs and small raids. But; after Goons failed attempt at doing anything significant in Y9G, and 3FA was seen assisting goons in said system, it was time to prepare to "repay the favour", which I think we suceeded in. The timing of LFC leaving is unfortunate because it would of been good to give them a last fight before they left.
Oh, and the other reason that your space was green and I <3 green systems.
GL with what you do next 3FA, I think you have some rethinking to do but I also think with some decent decisions you can get back on track. And to all the corps that have left 3FA, good luck also.

I'm with Le Card too.
I am also ex-3FA, I've flown, lived and died with some awesome people since then, and have been a small part of some big achievements - but Clipped Wings remains one of the best alliance and fleet commanders I've flown with.
If nothing else illustrates this to any outsiders reading the OP's drivel, then the almost-immediate loss of Y4Y upon LFC's departure should, especially when viewed considering the fact that 3FA under LFC held Y4Y whilst other big-name alliances formed, grew, grew old, and finally crumbled to dust.

I've never heard of thie Zyta Eke character, so I did a bit of research. According to this thread LFC left 3FA on 11 October. However according to the 3FA Killboard Zyta Eke has been involved in only one ship kill since LFC departed (a noob ship!) and only lost one ship (a t1 mining cruiser...) whilst the alliance he claims to lead was going through one of its worst wars ever.
Strange choice for a leader, no?

Disregarding whether or not I agree with what Zyta is trying to say, respect goes out for him by me personally for having the courage to write such a controversial record within the Galnet for the public to see. Courage is a quality rarely seen these days.
As for 3FA, unfortunately it was in a decline for some time prior to today. Regardless of LFC's departure, it would have just been a matter of time with the CoW/BLK invasion.
