I have not been able to get to the test server yet... But the question that nags me is this: with the overall HP increase, were the belt rats' HP also increased? If so, it would be a sad news. I completely agree that ship HP increase is very useful to make PvP encounters to last longer. However, as far as belt ratting is concerned, this will automatically cut my income per hour from ratting in half! It will also make killing some larger, BS-class rats even more boring than it is now. Ratting has always been more risky, and more profitable than mining. If rats' HP will be increased, this will impact the people who get their income from ratting considerably. To a point where mining would become significantly more profitable, with less risk involved, and more steady income stream! If my income were to be cut in half, I will have exactly half the motivation to go PvP and get my ship blown in the first place. So the game becomes half as fun. And don't ask me to do mining - the fun factor of that activity is... way below zero. I also foresee that the ammo prices in 0.0 will skyrocket, especially the T2 ammo. Most 0.0 ratters will start flying drone ships to save ammo - which will make their setups more predictable, and more accessible to pirate attacks. Oh, and increase in rat HPs will not make killing rats any more challenging than it is now, since the player ships will get the same HP boost. The process will just take an insanely long time. Please, please, leave rat HPs the same! Comments?

Well, under a barrage of Heavy Assualt missiles firing at a rate of 1 every 3.5 seconds the rats seemed to go at the speed Id expect on tranq and no faster or slower.
Its hard to tell though but id say they have the same HP as ever.
I'm not bored, I'm merely in the Queue. |

I would love it if PvE was actually made less trivial. Specifically, by improving the NPC AI, or making rats do a bit more damage. Or use Nosferatus and ECM. When my char was 2 weeks old, I was killing 175K BC class 0.3 rats in my Atron... If the rats were just a bit more intelligent, that would not have been possible. But just increasing the raw HP of rats would do no good.

ive had rats kick off my lock before especialy in larger missions but there not as zellous with ecm's as players are.
the ecm "fix" it hardly fixing much, now that i have to dedicate to jamming one race's type i am pretty well screwed if say i am jamming radar and a minatar ship shows up. that and having to give up a lowslot to a ecm booster that takes away fom an aux power core meens i may not even be able to fit everything in the first place.

Some of the belt spawns definately are. I've been jammed for 4 cycles by a single spawn before! --- Our greatest glory is not in never failing, but in rising up every time we fail. - Emerson |

My experience has been limited to Sanshas and Serpentis so far, and I have not been jammed yet. Good to know it can actually happen sometimes!

Sanshas use Tracking disrupters, Guristas use ECM.
I can't remember what the other races use off hand but they have their toys.

please remember that missions are about to be changed into more dynamic encounters, so maybe they are won't be as trivial... at least until someone finds all the triggers and puts them on a website

Belt rats melt like butter in 0.0. killed 1M rats a Hyperion and didnt move my shields 25%. Definitely easy now. Wrecks are cool too now.

Well, for the sake of balancing, CCP might want to look into the rats as well. Deffinately not make them as tough or with the same increase in hp as the player ships but some sort of balancing is probably needed. |

Mission will be "autonerfed". There is the automatic system for mission adjustament. If you do them faster, with less failures, you change the average and get less pay.

Please, please, not by increase in HP! It won't be real balancing. It will just make killing them long and boring. And reduce people's incomes from ratting. Make them smarter, make them fit more guns for more damage, and more toys for extra deadliness. But please, no HP increase!

Blood Harbringer nos you. Sansha use tracking disruptors. Angel web. (not sure about gurista/serp).. and there are frigates for all of them that scramble.
Hp increase was to make pvp longer.. why would we want to make NPCing longer?

To hell with the NPC's. Let 'em melt. Missions are going to be more dynamic/difficult anyways, so leave the beltspawns alone and instead increase the agent rewards in missions to fight harder NPC's. __________ Your wife's B!tch Slap strikes you perfectly, wrecking for a lifetime of pain and misery... |

I don't know about an hp increase. But I did do a 5/10 drone plex while logged into Sisi and I found it much more difficult to melt the Drone BS than before. Usually I can do it in a matter of two or three minutes with a geddon. I was using the Abaddon which has another turret slot (my cap was fine) and yet I could still not punch through the drone BS even though I was theoretically doing more damage. This is a bad sign.
