I heard a quick mention of a rig that added an extra med slot, but I'd crashed by then and couldn't check it for myself. They said it was a blueprint only, the mod wasn't listed. Still, can anyone confirm this?

Hmmn interesting, what about other slots I can't seem to get in for more than 5 minutes before crashing. Hehe and I am not hopping to add a magical new 9th slot on my mega although it would be kind of cool. Was actually thinking more about the slot layout on the hyp, a couple of extra low slots would be useful. Regards HexCaliber |

I really hope that this never makes it to Tranq.
Any rig that would just "add" another midslot would be stupidly overpowered and result in EVERYONE putting it as a "must have" on thier ship.
Seriously. Can you think of even 1 ship that couldn't use another midslot? Even my Scorpion with 8 would love a 9th, assuming it would fit.

Most of the rigs can be browsed normally on the market. The med slot rig cannot; however, if you search the market for rig you can find a blueprint for it, and then pull up specs on the rig itself from the BP info. This may just mean that they're not done deciding whether to put it in, or may just be an error if implementation.
The midslot rig costs 400 fitting points, twice as much as the most expensive of the "normal" T2 rigs

Edited by: Hex''Caliber on 26/10/2006 02:35:15 I seriously doubt any rig can take the number of slots beyond the maximum of eight. If they did, where the hell would you see the slot to add anything to it, there isnÆt the space on the fitting screen. Rig slots are limited on ships and there are so many rigs to choose from I certainly wonÆt be restricting myself to simply adding slots. But so what if others do, they then forgo the ability to benefit from other rigs available, it's all good.
They add a whole new layer of tactical decision making to ship setups now, cookie cutter setups are gone for good once this hits live. I only whish we had rigs to replace turret hard points with launcher hard points and vice versa. Replacing the ares launchers with turret hardpoints would certainly make the damn thing more useful.

If we get the ability to add slots or turret/launcher mounts then I'd be so happy, this will allow us to totaly modify our ships, depending on how many calibration points each ship gets ofcourse... -----------------------------------------------

That would be great, and not overpowered if there are also rigs that add slots. Although, I'm not sure how I feel about a CNR with 8 launchers...

I like the idea, but don't currently know how it's implemented.
Something like you gain a slot, but loose a different slot, or have a hull hp penalty or have a speed penalty or something.
Is this somewhat how it works on sisi?

I believe from what I have read, there is a calabraision penalty , for example a ship will have 300 calabraision points fitting a low class rig will take small points say increasing tracking by 1.3 on all turrets, medium class rig would take more such as %20 to cap recharge , where as something like adding another slot would take up ALL your points allowing you to have no other rigs fitted

I actually suggested this idea on the ships forum, but not as a rig. Simply as a module that fit in a high/mid/low slot that transferred that slot to high/mid/low as you choose, but needing some grid/cpu to do it.
Because I said so...

Maybe this will make the ares a better inty if released - currently 2 meds, with this you could fit the usual mwd, webby and scrambler ----------------------------------------------
If at first you don't succeed, give up - you tried once already.

Don't. Please don't. Make rigs cool, but don't make them a serious uber must have.
