RTS never work on consoles. This will fail for the 360 and (hopefully) will be ported to the pc.

It could be good, but with any RTS at the moment I find myself looking at it thinking, "kinda cool" then looking a the Supreme Commander videos again and completely forgetting why I thought the other RTS' were any good haha.

I was excited when i first saw the trailer but after wtaching it for the last while a few more times and actually thinking about im not so hyped about it. As said before rts cant work on consoles and once supreme commander comes out all other rts games will be obsolete

Did anyone here hear about the c&c generals conversion for halo? It was pretty good looking till microsoft made them stop due to copyright.

That's what I tell my friends and they still don't believe me. I even own a 360 and doubt it'll be good.

Mmhmm, simply wont work. Like a lot of you have said here, I'm praying for a port, as that would be a lot easier to control.
The only time I've tried to RTS on a console was with C&C on the N64, and it was cool until I started getting swarmed by Nod and realizing I was completely incapable of responding fast enough  . Never tried it since.

I believe the first Halo game was actually made as an RTS before being transformed into the FPS we know it as. I had a video somewhere that showed the development cycle of the game and they showed small clips of the different stages. It's on an old PC Gamer UK DVD somewhere if i remember correctly.

Dang, you beat me to it. But your correct, original development for Halo by Bungie for the PC was that it was an RTS, then they thought nahhh, go FPS...then MS bought them and they went Xbox (and made a damn fine game).
To be fair to bungie, I bet someone has always had this on the backburner for ideas and the opportunity came up to make it, so they went ahead.
I'm looking forward to the PC port of it as RTS's dont work that well with pads.

In defence of the 360 :D
They will assume that many people found the control style of Battle for Middle Earth 2 easy to get the hang of. I think that the 360 port of BFME2 was really well made and the controller did work well BUT I also agree it would be lots better using the keyboard and mouse
Halo 2 is hitting the PC soon so maybe this game will follow

It's not estimated. I think the prices are available on windows.com. If not, check preorders for it on Amazon or the like.
