Well, with the current state of Amarr and all the threads saying it's worthless to train for, and that you shouldn't bother, I thought i'd do the opposite. My character may be new, but I haven't trained a single skillpoint in anything other than Amarr skills. I can fly geddons and apocs but I couldn't use a small rail, autocannon or blaster if I wanted to.
And i'm rather proud about that.
Am I alone here, or is anyone else sticking with Amarr?

With proper skills Amarr can be really good. Skill intensive race though. Usually depends more on ROF for damage then it does actual damage per shot. =============================================== We are Watching You. |

If you fly Amarr in PvP you have about half the ships to chose from compared to Gallente. Amarr is actually not really a race but more just a bundle of 6-7 ships to pick from, not including capital ships ofc.
The few good ships in their line up all don't use laser turrets (Pilgrim, Curse) so that should tell you something..

You are not alone. 100% amarr here and still going strong. I adapt to the new reallitys and dont go on the month flavour race or use pre cooked setups.
I'm stucked with this race and dont even think on training another.

I guess every MMO has its delusional...
Just because some people are stubborn doesn't mean there is nothing wrong, after all, some people think plural marriage & slavery are ok.

Amarr here, though I admit I've picked up some gallente ship skills recently.
I was wavering heavily, but have some renewed hope due to what we're seeing with Kali - the only thing that will kill that is if amarr are somehow gimped when it comes to rigging compared to other races.
We need some attention, but I still hold out hope.

I believe you misread my post. I'm perfectly aware of the state of Amarr currently. If you'd like to point out where I stated that my "stubborn" attitude means nothing is wrong, i'll gladly edit it.

training for T2 med lasers atm.
why? because I want to specialize in med guns, and because the harbinger looks like it will be a good, solid laser/pew-pew-pew platform. -------

I'm Amarr and proud. Never regretted it since I biomassed my original Caldari many years ago.
I don't believe in the 'this race has better stats' nonsense some players wil hype about. So the Devs keep changing things, who cares? Only morons who think numbers and ratios are life. Rules lawyers for sure.
Who am I? An ammunitionless armoured fighter who wages into the thick of missions while others cower back in fear of getting too close. My ship is my shield and my lasers my sword. I am Amarr. |

I am Amarr. I have Amarr Frigate, Cruser and Battleship all at 5. I also can fly Amarr freighters. I train Large Energy turret to 5 just now.
I like Amarr, the ships are most beautiful in game. My Malediction is best ship in the game. It is so fast and has big punch for so small a ship.
Lasers are good weapon, no ammunition to have carry. And em damage is not so bad. Often people not fit em hardeners because base resistance is good on armour. So sometimes easier to kill ship with lasers.
I stick with Amarr, soon I will be get my dreadnaught, Amarr of course.

I am clearly focussed on Amarr but with a few deviant skills like Gallalente, Gladari and Minmatart frigates (honnest typos here..) as well as Medium Artillery Cannons. The rest is Amarrian stuff. Our Battleships are awesome miners and can be brought to battle unlike Mining Barges.!
Armageddon is just tooo hot to look at. Most Amarr stations are FUGLY tho.. Gallante have the best looking ones by far but hey I wont get to 'fly' a station anytime soon .

Although I talk a lot of **** about Amarr (at least in-character), I honestly do wish CCP would make Amarr (and to a lesser degree, Minmatar) more attractive to play. There are way too many Caldari in this game.

Amarr have the coolest looking ships in the game after Gallente IMO. And lasers are my favorite weapons.

Edited by: Grimmdus Almanus on 26/10/2006 22:23:26 I am a crossed player i guess. My Amarr character runs caldari (raven t2 seiges :) However my caldari runs a apoc laser killing machine. I love it it needs a little bit of tank support but it burns thru complex drones and turrets like butter even using mega modualted beems. And goes thru the bs's with satisfaction as well. And my caladri is 3 days from a malediction. I wouldn't call ammar a pvp race. But for plexs and npc hunting it right on the money. Large cargo holds next to no ammo give or take a couple crystals, npc's don't really nos you that i have seen and if you sit of 60k you can burn through anything coming your way if you set up well. Leave any surviving drone to your drones and you got it made. I would like a fix to them concerning pvp though, that would really help out. null |

Amarr ships yea...
I was working on only amarr guns, then I learnt that projectile weapons use no cap, then looked at the bonuses on some of my ships and had to go learn me up some projectile weapons skills.
BTW, punisher with autocannons can tank for a LONG time ;D

This game is so complex I have a hard time saying any one group is at a severe disadvantage. If you just stack up raw stats, everything else being equal, there are definitely imbalances. But everything else is rarely equal. You've got all sorts of issues such as trained skills, actual personal skill, types of equipment, who you are up against, what ships are involved, group or 1v1, and so-on. Specific ships are definitely better in specific situations, again, all things being equal, but I don't see an across-the-board deficiency. The great thing about this game is that it's so complex there's no "I Win" ship or configuration.

I love being Amarr.. No other Race does that mean evil dark ages look like we do.
Oh and the only Amarr ship I fly is a Curse. I use Gallente/Caldari for everything else.
Am I a bad Amarr?

You better bring a bunch of big angry men with you when you come to take my Curse away. I'm won't leave it willingly. I can fly Gallente Battleships and Minmatar Frigates, but its very rare that you see me in one. Training for T2 Large Lasers now.
