Edited by: Maik002 on 26/10/2006 18:57:35 Last weeks me and my corp are suffering lag problems while doing missions in the Citadel region, especially in Saila and Motsu systems. We loose some ships but the petition has allways the same reply:
Quote: Hi *** Thank you for contacting customer support. I apologize for the late reply. I checked our logs but regret to inform you that we are unable to verify your loss in our logs as being abnormal in any way,and after checking our server logs, we found no server issues at the time of your ship's destruction. This is not to say that you did not experience lag, however it means that the source of the lag did not originate from EVE server. We regret the loss of your ship, however, in this case we will not be reimbursing your ship. Thank you for your patience and understanding. Best Regards,
I see a lot of people in local having this issues and we have decided to stop our missions in caldari space while this problem stills unfixed, so i want to know if there¦s more people having troubles because of lag. I¦m thinking on mount a great big gang to potest not only for the lag, but also for the lack of responsability with the reimburse petitions. Thankx guys.

I started to type a long and reasoned reply to the OP's post, but I lost the will to continue half way through. So, the abridged version...
1) Saila and Motsu? They're crawling with mission runners, no wonder they're laggy. What do you expect if you create a character of the most popular race and then run missions for the Caldari Navy in safe empire? There are Caldari corporations other than the Navy, you know. Of course, you might think you have a right to servers that can cope with this, so,
2) The servers have been unhappy for the last few weeks. Partly it seems to be the Dragon code hangover, but it might also be related to large wars that are going on. Even previously unlaggy areas have been unplayable (Molden Heath, anyone?). CCP are working on hotfixes and hardware upgrades.
3) I had a third point, but I've just had a couple of beers after not drinking for over a month. I'm losing the thread a little here.
4) Er..., profit?

a) motsu always bad b) u continue to live in a laggy system get used to it c) move to somewhere quiter lag goes away d) make sure everyone is on 256k minimum speed (dial up is becoming unplayable of late) If all else fails go ratting in 0.0

You're doing missions in the CNR L4 mission ***** capital of EVE, Motsu. There's your problem.

It's interesting how everyone is flaming the OP for being in the "wrong" solar system. Apparently paying a monthly subscription fee does not give him a right to play where he wants to.
And besides, if everyone knows that Motsu is always laggy, why can't the GMs reimburse him.

In an ideal world, you could do whatever you like in EvE. But it's not an ideal world and as most people have noticed, the servers have been struggling a bit in the last few weeks. Yes, he should be able to play in Motsu if he wants. But at the moment, playing in Motsu probably means losing ships to lag. He can stay there if he likes, but lag is going to happen. Okay, so it's not fun, and it's not what we want out of a game. But it is possible to play in systems other than Motsu and still have fun. We're not flaming, we're just suggesting that at the moment mission running in Motsu is a little foolhardy.
In regard to your second point, paying a monthly subscription fee doesn't give him a right to anything much. The T&Cs don't guarantee any level of service. Okay, so there might be some vague moral right to a good level of service but there's no contractural right.

Edited by: Maik002 on 28/10/2006 13:29:13 Thanks Futuri That¦s the point. CCP says they cant trace any sign of LAG during my ship loose. +If it is so clear, why do they lie? By the way. I¦m now in Gallente Space doing LvL2 missions. Nice, isnt it?. This is the reason i want to stay in Motsu. Other agents are in low sec or have lower standing.

I can really sympathise with you. So many poeple end up in Motsu because some of the best L3 agents are Caldari Navy so its obvious then where your going to go next in safe empire space when you can do L4s.
Cant they just release a few more Level 4.18+ in Caldari space > 0.5. Simple solution , we will all disperse to the new areas and the lag will disperse with it. The fact that standings take too long to raise (from faction perspective) means you tend to get stuck with the level 4 agent corp you did level 3's with. This broken mechanic has come to bite them in the rear.

At the moment their servers don't log enough information for them to be able to show that a ship loss was caused by lag. This is, I'm sure you'll agree, not ideal. I have heard them mention that they're working on improving this, but I haven't heard anything detailed.
They can tell how busy a node was when you lost you ship, but I guess that they don't want to encourage everyone on busy nodes to petition every ship loss. Bear in mind that although the lag you experienced was probably on the server, it can also be caused by poor network connections (some people in the US have had packet loss problems this week, I've noticed) or PC problems.
By the way: there are high-quality lvl 4 caldari agents giving kill missions in safe empire space that hardly anyone uses. People seem obsessed with running for Caldari Navy agents. You don't need to run for the Caldari Navy to get a Navy Raven offer, and running for the other agents usually puts you in systems that are a lot less busy. I know a nice agent based in 0.5 space (so better rewards than higher sec) in a system that usually only has 20 people in it. System security affects rewards more than quality level, anyway.
