Is there any difference between the penalties applied to the warp core stab I and the named ones? Like a "stoic" core equalizer might only have a 40% penalty and so on?

They were nerfed because WCS were considered over powered in comparison to Scrams. Nerfin Scrams wouldn't make much sense, would it? Might aswell have just nerfed nothing in the first place............. -----------------------------------------------

ok - looks like discusion now wcs are not overpowered for one wcs you using +2 scrambler if enemy whant runout he need loose 2 low slots - and you using one med slot only... more - if someone whant be sure to be not stoped - he using 3 lowslots... and you can easli stop him by 2 medslot... looks like unbalanced... loks like warp scramblers need to be nerfed - not wcs there is more - wcs is not working in bubles and not working in under interdictor spheres...
i will tell you what is real reason for wcs nerfing... lazy pilots with milions skills in gunerry 120km from gate who dont understand why they unable to kill everyone (usually they have 4+ wcs) or people who whant kill all alone - in gang you have many ships/interceptors , interdictors, even bubles..
and for a nice gang is not a problem to kill even 6+ wcs raven
its a game.. game is for fun at last in that way - not a game: i will be able kill everyone just becouse i have over 20+ m sp - its play stupid its not a single player diablo II where every one can be a hero and every one is the best that is a even more than a team game - its a mmog thats why i still not see ANY reason for wcs nerf

I do like the fact I can run away from pirates with the current system but...
I do understand a Pvper's frustration when someone who attacks them can flee because they have 6-8 WCSs.
I don't like the fact the ship itself has a siggy radius penalty, because that sucks for haulers trying to get away from gatecamps. Maybe they should beef up the T2 Indy's scram strength?

What you are talking about is not a nerf to travelers and explorers. What it happens to be is a nerf to people who have combat setups with more then 1 wcs. In my opinion one wcs is perfectly acceptable in warfare. However with 2 on you no have the ability on shield based ships to run from any solo threat out there without much penilty. The only thing this "nerf" is going to do is make the people fighting with 2+ wcs waist a mid slot or 2 to fight. For those mining and missioning this wont affect. Mission spots are almost impossible to find, and mining you dont need to lock fast. So please stop complaining about your "nerf" to wcs if you arent in these 2 situations.
BTW mid slots are atleast worth 2 low slots, in overall setups.

If someone is 120km from a gate then they can't scramble anyway.
What this does mean though is that that sniper 120km from the gate cannot fit large numbers of stabs.
Which means that if you get a covert ops onto him he is gonna die.

Never mined in a barge right? Cut the sensor range to 11 km and you need to enter the asteroid field to mine the rare ores, so little chance to warp avay fast as you get struck in the roids. At 5,5 km it is even worse. And forgot the secure cans as they can't be put at less than 5 km from a roid or any other item. And for the missior runners, cutting the lock range to 1/2 to avoid the risk of getting scrambled by the NPC means killing your set up.

hmm i find the whole barge thing an interesting discussion, why put stabs on them, if i come in and decide to kill your barge i'm sure as hell not gonna waste time scrambling it. warp in, lock, fire, dead barge. Those things have the armor equivalent of wet toiletpaper.

wcs needed to be balanced out.
major system capable of restabilizing the warp core to achieve warp while under the effect of a system destabilizing, but without using anything but sheer cpu power... bs system.
at least they aren't active mods with those penalties present just for fitting it, then something horrid like a velocity penalty, cap recharge penalty, etc... during activation.

But really if you are mining in 0.0 you should have someone tanking the belt for you. --------------
