Calculation for Learning skill Per lvl:
(P+S/2)*(1.02*L) = SP learned per minute
P = Primary attribute S = Secondary attribute L = Learning skill level
Assumed Skill attributes of Character:
14 Perception 14 WillPower
Taking Perception and Will Power: ---------------------------------
Level 1 Learning Skill Training:
(14* (14/2 ) ) * (1.02*1) =
(14*7) * 1.02 =
98 * 1.02 =
99.96 points per minute
----------------------------------------------------------
Level 2 Learning Skill Training:
(14* (14/2 ) ) * (1.02*2) =
(14*7) * 2.04=
98 * 2.04 =
199.92 points per minute
----------------------------------------------------------
Level 3 Learning Skill Training:
(14* (14/2 ) ) * (1.02*3) =
(14*7) * 3.06 =
98 * 3.06 =
299.88 points per minute
Have I been ignoring the 2% training improvement incorrectly?
(calculations from posting - lost contact tho)

Hehe, no.
(P+S/2)*(1+0.02*L) = SP learned per minute
Is the correct one. And remember to use your real attributes, not the ones shown in your character sheet.

The character sheet shows your atttributes modified by your learning skill, as a rounded value.

yup. Say you have 15 in willpower and lvl 4 in learning. 15x1.08=16.2 Your character sheet will show that you have 16 in willpower. But in the formula for counting skill training you need to use 15.

This is retarded. That the skill sheet doesnt display correctly, also the formulas. These type of games will never hit mass mainstream like this =(

Why not? Shouldn't these internal game processes be opaque?

Edited by: Ariemeth on 06/11/2003 20:01:56 (P+S/2)*(1.02*L) = SP learned per minute
P = Primary attribute S = Secondary attribute L = Learning skill level
This is not right at all the formula is (P + S/2) * (1 + .02 * L ) = SP learned per minute
therefore with P and S at 14 and L at 0 (14 + 14/2) * (1 + .02 *0) (14 + 7) * 1 21 SP / min
At Learning 1 (14 + 14/2) * (1 + .02 * 1) (14 + 7) * 1.02 21 * 1.02 21.42 SP / min
At Learning 2 (14 + 14/2) * (1 + .02 * 2) (14 + 7) * 1.04 21 * 1.04 21.84 SP / min
At Learning 3 (14 + 14/2) * (1 + .02 * 3) (14 + 7) * 1.06 21 * 1.06 22.26 SP / min
At Learning 4 (14 + 14/2) * (1 + .02 * 4) (14 + 7) * 1.08 21 * 1.08 22.68 SP / min
At Learning 5 (14 + 14/2) * (1 + .02 * 5) (14 + 7) * 1.10 21 * 1.10 23.1 SP / min
If you do the math out you will see that the learning skill its the most beneficial to skills with high attributes. You will se a larger time difference in a skill with stats up 15 15 then you will of 5 5
