I've just recently started to experiment a bit with drones. Scout drones to be precise. I find it very hard to evaluate their preformance though as the damage they deal doesn't show up in the log! Is this how it's supposed to work or is it just my log being bugged... or are my drones not attacking at all!?
As I understand it it should be enough to just lanch your drones and they should attack any one attacking you with out you having to explicitly oredering them to attack. Is this correct? |

Sometimes they do that, sometimes they don't... if a rat shows up and starts shooting at your drones, the others just chuckle and laugh at it.
If you get attacked, most of the times your drones respond. But not always.
Better target the rat yourself and order your pets to attack.
Just because we are paranoid, doesn't mean you're not out to get us. |

One nice thing to note about drones that was not mentioned: If they're deployed before you open fire on something, they'll automatically attack along with you. They'll even move out to the necessary range to do so! If used properly this can be very handy.

well If the Enemy start shoot at you, your drones will automatic engage him. But (i dont get this) sometimes the Pirate engage your drones, not you. but your drones will not defend them self.. wierd. But I love drones.. Heavy.. If u got 6-7 wasps, u dont need to do anything in NPC hunting in 0.1 space.. ofcourse u have to repair them sometimes..

I must voice my support for Heavy drones; they are simply awesome. Really too good, in my opinion. I just picked up a Bellicose cruiser and 3 Ogres keep me safe (from NPC's) while I mine away in a 0.3. Sure, everyone supports saving Einstein's brain, but when you put it in the body of a Great White Shark, suddenly you've "gone too far". |
