I got to play on the test server for an hour or so last night, i decided to fly around in a very uber looking Rokh, i think these things will be the new mainstay of most battleship fleets, and possibly replacing the megathron.
I flew around in a Hyperion(which looks like a megathron  ) and it handles quite nicely, repairing 2k armor every 11 seconds is quite nice, and the damage isnt that bad, but i fear that this extra mid slot will encourge the use of ECM ( i used a tracking disruptor worked amazingly ).
Also if anyone get s ascreenshot of the hpyerion the way it should look can you show me pLEASSSSSSSSSSSSSSE.

i think the hyperion will be great for close range sentry tanking. Has enough lows and armor to tank, with enough mids to fit a couple sensor boosters and tackling gear.
Should be interested to see how it compares in fleets

but in all honestly, it can replace the megathron, but i think blasterthron pilots will enjoy this new tool, i know i will. anyone got an idea of price i look on insuring it it sad 176mil pay out for platnium. so are we looking at 170-190mil?

wait did someone actually get to see a render of the hyperion as per the concept art from a while back? if so I demand pics!!
really curious to see how it looks butplug similarities aside, there are plenty of ships that look like sex toys, not enough of a reason to scrap a ship imo

No-one has actually seen anything other than the side-on concept art, so it's safe to say no-one has any real idea what they are talking about

170-190mil for a Hyoe, no way its worth that in its current form.
I'm more or less a dedicated blaster pilot, been flying blasterthron since 2003, and I see no reason to fly the hype over a mega at all atm.
All workable set ups on it use electrons, compared to a neutron thron it just doesnt stack up in a gang, mega puts out more damage and at longer ranges than the hype so Hype doesnt offer anything the mega doesnt already offer, but better.
Think the only real use for the Hype might be in soloing, even then I think youre better off sticking with the trusty mega.
Very dissapointed in the Hype so far.
Take your average roaming small gang, most targets will be around 15-20k away, mega can instantly hit these ships at these ranges without having to move, yet the hype with low ranged electrons is going to have to move to reach its target, the whole time not doing damage, and when it eventualy gets there its putting out less damage anyway lol.
And as for sentry tanking, have taken freighters out under sentry fire in a mega, so the Hype is no great benefit there either.
Realy want to like the Hype, but just cant see any redeeming features on it yet, all its doing is competing with the mega for the same roal and not any better at that role than the mega we already have.

Don't forget the smaller drone bay of the Hyperion, better tracking of the Mega ... :(

Then in his wisdom, decided to make the very good move of lowering fittings on some blasters.
During this time the Hype was already on the drawing board, so Tux decided I know lets make a dedicated blaster ship, that is what the mega should have been.
In the mean time players came up with some good fittings for mega with the new lower fitting requirments on the blasterthron making blasterthron a nice balanced ship, that does what it should.
Now he has the problem that the hype on the drawing board suddenly looks quite overpowered, so it gets nerfed.
Now its nerfed down to the point where its just a different blaster boat no better and in some respects worse than the current one.
Painted himself into a corner I think.

I think one of the bigger crimes is how useless all the other Large rail guns are in comparison to the 425mm. 350's and dual 250's are rubbish in comparison, and I don't know many people at all that use them in any serious situation.
