I'm skilling up to use an R+D agent, and was wondering:-
My chosen agent has several 'branches'. Starship Eng, rocket science, etc. Do I have to train up all of the relevant skills to start using him, or can I set him going after skilling in one field and then learn the others?
Cheers

You just have to have an equal or better skill level in the area you wish to be researching as the R&D Agent.

OK. And if I train the other fields, do I get a chance of those BPs too, or can you only do 1 field per agent?

You only need lvl 1 in a skill the agent offers research in (in addition to the required standings) to start using the agent for that skill.
To your second post it is only 1 field per agent. |

So for a lvl 3 agent, I don't need to train the research skill to lvl 3? What does the skill level increase gain then?

The higher the relevant skill the more research points awarded per day.

more points per day
if u want more r&d agents there is a skill outthere that lets u handle 1 more agent per level, the skill is kinda pricy (something around 40 mill i think) but very nice if u want more agents offcourse.
now where on the subject... i noticed that my other R&D agents hand out less points per day in the order on which i 'hired' them... so the 1st one hands out a lot, the 2nd one a little less (even though it is an L4 R&D) and so on and so on... is this a bug or a feature? I've heard about this one, but never found the name of it. Any idea anyone?

The skill you are looking for is called "Research Project Management".
It takes research lvl 5 and lab ops lvl 5.
Costs 40 mill like the above poster said.
Also it is a rank 8 skill.

Bah, you responded to yourself faster than I could :D
Anyways, even though the skill is a pain to buy/train for to me it was worth it after the work of getting my standing up with the research corp.

Thanks guys n gals.
Is there a full R+D guide anywhere? Looking to find what skills are most helpful in the R+D field and what they do.
eg Lab Ops....the way I read it sounds like you can resarch an extra field with an agent per level. Is that right? Some 'show info' descriptions are too vague.

Fairly certain lab ops is for blue print researching, not agent research. Only reason I have it at lvl 5 is for the research project management skill.
For a guide you can look in mission forum, look at the stick called "Agent Mission, COSMOS and Complex Resources".
You have to scroll down a ways in that sticky but there are 1 or 2 guides I think.
