A long time ago, Scorpions were the mainstay of any fleet, and then as t2 was introduced, the megathron slowly crept up and now they are a extremely common sit eon the battle field but do we think the rokh will replace it? KILL STATS

Assuming Gallente BS 5:
Megathron - 7 425mm II + 25% damage bonus = 8.75 guns worth of damage Rokh - 8 425mm II + 0 damage bonus = 8 guns worth of damage.
Depending what range the engagement is taking place at the Rokh may be able to use shorter-range, higher damage ammo and still hit effectively thanks to its huge optimal range bonus. However I still don't see it outdamaging the Mega significantly unless the Mega pilot has low skills. The Rokh will also likely cost about 140 million isk vs. around 105 for the Megathron, and it does not get the Mega's tracking bonus, although it will have more hitpoints than the Mega and that tanking bonus.
In summary I think they will both be effective and valuable members of a fleet, but I do not see the Rokh wholy displacing the Mega anytime soon.

The Rokh is going to be a fad, once its out everyone with hybird skills with own one. A few billion ISK worth of destroyed Rokhs later and it will be used in moderation. ------------------------------------- Proud member of G Guild! |

the Rohk will change fleet battles as they are today. still, the megathron will be able to dish out more damage tho. -------

Well considering all the other sniper bs got hit with the nerfbat, the Rokh is the only one that's going to be able to shoot effectively over about 205km.
Either everyone will start skilling for Rokhs (I know gallente pilots might) and fleet fights will increase to ~220-250km optimals, or people will stay in their other sniper battleships - engagement ranges will drop to 150-180km instead of 200, and unless Rokh pilots have a seperate warp-in to *****from 250km away, they're gonna be doing crap damage at 150km.

Well considering a Rokh can load AM and hit at 80km I sorta expect that at 150 they will being using much better ammo than the Meg and they have the mid slots to toss on a few LSB-2s and have a fairly good passive tank while in gank mode which the Meg will have a much harder time doing. svetlana - "whining gets you stuff. that is why humans got to the top of the food chain and all the other animals got nerfed."

Rokh's will make 425mm Railgun II rise to the point where Amarr pilots will stop wining, because their guns will still be affordable.

Nah, they'll start trading a Sacrilege for each 425mm II they want to fit on their newly cross trained Rokh/Megathron. --- Our greatest glory is not in never failing, but in rising up every time we fail. - Emerson |

Megas still do more damage at range, but Rokhs make it possible for newer players to take part in sniperfests.

Spike L has the same damage as Thorium L with boosted tracking. If the rokh can hit 'standard' t2 sniper ranges with anything more damaging than thorium, sure - it might do better

350 II's work much better on a rohk in terms of fitting, only a slight reduction in dps, better tracking, and the range evens out to other T2 battleships
plus you can fit a decent tank etc which you cannot do with 425 II's
with the already ridiculous prices of 425 II's I think 350 II's will be the mainstay of rokh fleet fits

More nubs can join the blobs with fully insurable T1 fitted battleships that can snipe the same distance as a T2 fitted Megathron. But since the Mega has more damage output and can still stuff a few 1600mm plates on, it will still be a mainstay. ---
