Well this may be a long shot.....way long. But here it goes.
I have just returned to the game and was hoping to get my old char back. However when I left a freind of mine transfered my main to his account and has since quit playing eve. Now I can't get in touch with him and dont have the account info. for my old main.
Is there a chance C.C.P. will help me. I can prove that the char in question was mine and that my counterpart was willing to give my char back. But will they let me get him back?

You probably should consider being more careful about sharing things (or info) with others in the future.
Remove insurance.

Hey, CCP, I just want to point out that I'm actually Chribba. And Mittens. And Eve Solecist. The guys that play those characters now are some friends of mine from a while back that I can't get in touch with. But really, they were all mine originally. If you could just go ahead and move them back over to my account that would be swell.

I predict a ban for the account that holds your main if how you describe the transfer is how it was transferred (Your friend accessing your account and transferring it to his account without you being involved).
Your not going to get it back. This particular situation your describing is one of the reasons CCP doesn't allow account sharing and has a specific way of doing char trades. |

Unfortunately I think you're screwed, in that manner that this is YOUR problem, not CCP's and therefore there isn't much they can do about it. |

Though generally of good intention I would suggest that you ignore a lot of the advice above and contact CCP anyways..and when you do would you please enquire of them if I can have your good friends stuffs

The only way I could see you getting the character back is by your friend logging in and transferring it over, but like you said you can't get in contact with them, and even if you had their account info it would be a bit sketchy cause I'm sure that would fall under account sharing.
That said though, it can't hurt to try contacting CCP, but I very much doubt there's anything they can do. |

If the character is on someone else's account, there isn't much that can be done. Filing a petition is your best (and pretty much only) chance at it. Good luck regardless of the outcome.

You just have to see if you can get in touch with him and get it back that way. CCP probably wont just give you a character from someone else, even if you somehow prove that it's yours and was 'taken' which in itself isn't even allowed.. Oh well. Yeah I don't think you will get anywhere without your friend and you making a character transfer. |

I would still petition it like others have said. It really depends on what the logs say and only CCP can see those. It doesn't hurt to try. It is kind of like the lottery, you have to play to win.

Use his account. He's not playing and the only issue is payment. Which you don't need him for as soon as he cancels subscription. You can also alter e-mail etc. So transfer the account instead of just the character.
Don't worry about account-sharing. As long as you're not SHARING your account CCP is not gonna say no to 20 bucks a month. Who pays for the account is not important. Plenty of mommies and daddies paying EVE accounts.
But you cant drag them into this either. Because you have to accept that nobody will believe your friends' willingness to let you have the character back if you or he cant even log in. True or false, there's simply no evidence for it. I could say the exact same thing.

Well at last, I was able to track down my old corp mate. And I will this weekend have my old char back. With all his ships and cash. Thank you facebook. And the old corp forums that are still there.

No, I transfered the char to him several years ago.we're going to transfer my old char back to me Friday. After payday ofcoarse. |
