Hello everyone.
I've started working on my Lai Dai faction since I'm mostly doing industry and research stuff with this character. So I found a good level 1 research agent and there happen to be a good courier mission agent at the same station.
So I've been doing ok with the missions and all the sudden the agent starts sending me into low sec to deliever packages. I went a head and did one, and barely made it back alive. So the next time I was offered one if low sec I turned her down. I then got a couple others from her that were in high sec space but then she offered me another in low sec. I turned this one down too, only this time I was warned if I turned it down I was going to lose standing with the agent.
My question is, why is a level 1 mission agent giving me courier missions into low sec? And is there any way to avoid taking the standing hit if I turn down more then one offer?
Thanks!

Agents give missions up to around 5 systems from you, so if you are close to a low-sec system then you can be sent there. It also depends on the agents, I had one agent right next to low-sec by he kept on sending me in the other direction into high-sec . There is no way you can change this besides finding another agent.
I also see you're using a level 1 research agent, which in all honesty is not worth it. Rather work your standing to high quality level 3/4 agents before starting research as they give much more research points per day.
To get your standing up faster I suggest finding a station with more than one agents of your level inside it. If I remember correctly, Haajainen (spelling might be wrong, search for "Haaj") has 6 agents in the station ranging from level 2 Q-20 to level 3 Q15.
Good luck and have fun :) -----------------------------------------------

You can turn down one mission every four hours per agent. Less than four hours, you will get a status penalty. As far as being sent into low sec, how many jumps are you from low sec? The closer you are, the more likely you will be given missions there. Not sure how many jumps is the "max" they will send you, but this is most likely why you are getting these missions. My best advice would be to find another agent further from low sec, or to get some insta jumps made. Hope it works out for you either way! -------------------------------------------------

Great! Thanks a lot for the info. I didn't realize the agent level for R&D mattered. I'm glad I found out now. So find a good level 3/4 R&D agent in my field of research. I'll also be able to use more then one R&D agent in a week or so, would it be best to keep working with the one I have now while working on my standing, then find another when I can use more then one at a time? I guess I should have did a bit more research into this before I started up with R&D.
Thanks again! Stroxuss

It's Haajinen in Lonetrek and other than the occasional mission to Aunenen and Passari (both low sec), which you should turn down, most will be to high security and generally in the same direction, since that stretch of systems tends to be linear (Torrinos-Ibura-Yoma-Isinokka-Oipo-Haajinen-Piak-Elonaya-Nonni)
edit: Can you tell that I did a lot of missions for them in my youth?

hehe, yeah I also did missions for them in the begining but never declined the low-sec missions and never had problems going into lowsec there. I used a nano'd frig or cruiser when going in and with instas never even got targeted once. Low-sec isn't as dangerous as people think once you take all the precautions necessary. -----------------------------------------------
