Yup its all true, i have done 554 missions for my amarr agent and have yet to see the shadow of a BP.
I started doing missions for the sole purpose of getting a BP, so i am quite dissapointed now. Just thinking about the countless hours i have WASTED on doing these silly and boring missions makes me sick
And why haven't i given up earlier.. well.. people claimed that the 2nd chance of getting a BP would be around mission number 550, which i have now reached.
Here is a little info: Agent Name: Mabat Araza Location: Goni Corp: Inherent Implants Faction: Amarr Agent quality: +19% +10% Agent standing: Excellent Agents corp: very good(6.0) Agents faction: Excellent(9.49)
My charisma: 12(with implant, i really do not hope this is the cause) Social: Lvl 4
I think i am going to petition about this even though it won't help a bit

Wow! Thats a lot of time! 10 minutes per mission (but I think it's a little bit longer) - it's 92 hours! Killing NPC pirates at average 5 mln isk/hr makes it 460.000.000 ISK (I don't count rare loot sales profit). How many implants is that? And what kind of BP do You expect to get?
Best and fastest way to get a BP - buy it!
PS: Even mining veldspar will give You 1 mln per hour :)

i know about spawn killing, used to do that myself.. So yes i could have made alot of isk running spawns instead of these stupid missions.
But i wanted to get that BP reward (when i started doing missions i did not know what BP i would get from an amarr agent, later on i heard it was some lame armour hardener, but at that time i had done alot of missions and thought it would be stupid to give up now). And here i am at mission 550+ and still no BP reward.. it kindda ****es me off.

10 mins per level 3 mission? You gotta be kidding - mine were average of at least 30 mins and often up to 3/4 hour each with virtually no insta missions.

Zedric, i'm at 535 with amarr agent and still no BP. at 550 i'll stop definetly. i don't understand why someone get a BP at 300 missions and someone will never receive one (because i'm sure that we will never receive this BP).

Im at about 490 and after petioning and watching clueless replies go backwards and forwards ive given up. "Its competely random" "you are just very unlucky", "all we can suggest is keep trying" about the only thing ive managed to find out is non of the above seems to accurate.
The fact that i spent in the region of a month of my game playing time doing missions for scant reward seems of little interest to the GM's or Dev's. People have completed less missions at level 3 than i have and gotten 2 BP's and 6 referals rather than no BP and 1 referal. Then again its RANDOM (dont make me laugh) so this is just very unlikely.
Out of interest have either of you had a referal from the agent in question.

If you haven't gotten the BP yet, then it being completely random still applies. Even if it takes 100000 missions, it can still be random. You can roll the dice 2 billion times and never roll a 6, or roll it twice and get a 6 both times. Random is great |

Thats why I say, every random algorithm needs a sanity check. If theres a 10% chance of getting BPs and the person hasnt gotten it after the 500th try, it should spit out a BP. ____________________________________ Taggart wants YOU. Join TTi! *waves his hand in your face in the jedi way* |

Well in theory you are correct however if it was completely random how come there is rather large distribution around 250 to 320. Absolutly nothing before 250 and only a few after 320 which do seem to occur more or less randomly.
Of course we could all just be being very unlucky but the chances of that in a truely random system are small.
It seems we have a sanity check to make sure you dont get the BP too quickly but the devs didnt think to put one in to stop you from getting it too slowly. Its just a complete lack of any forsight and the consequences in terms of customer enjoyment that it gives.
To quote a GM "However, the mission system was never intended to be so easy that all items would be available to everyone, where's the fun in that?"
However them being available to most for less than half the time ive put is so much FUN for me. I cant tell you how much im enjoying that.

Well, randomness is involved, but not all of it. It could be after 250 missions, theres a 10% chance of getting a BP, with +1% chance for every social/quality point or -1% for every implant reward already gotten.
Yes, sanity checks also help for buggy code till they get fixed. ____________________________________ Taggart wants YOU. Join TTi! *waves his hand in your face in the jedi way* |

The good thing here is that you'll be in good when the lvl4 agents hit the market.

not necessarily. they will have to port over the standings you have, and the new system is standings based, not missions. Theres nothing said about missions. Since you cant get above 6.0 standings, all missions you do beyond that may be useless. Although I dont want to start anything here, since thats just me guessing, so not everyone get all uptight over everything. We'll wait and see what happens on chaos. ____________________________________ Taggart wants YOU. Join TTi! *waves his hand in your face in the jedi way* |

_ Í_Í damn, you have my apologies.. but tell me your secret, how the heck have you done more then 500 missions without ordering ticket to island and flame the house of CCP.. i mean that agent missions is the most boring thing i ever see in a game (you hear me? - my agent.. if i could get a chance to knock him..no )

FYI, how many of those missions were done before/after implants were put into the game?
I have heard (and semi-confirmed) that only missions done after implants were placed in the game count. For example, a corpmate was told by a GM that he should receive his miner II BP within 305 missions done for the same agent after implants.
Lo and behold, he got his BP at mission 349 or so, having run 49 missions for that agent, before implants. ------------ Ezra Cornell pe0n, Xanadu Corporation |

I have a question to all those who HAVE received a bp , has anyone ever gotten a bp from the Inherent Implants Corp even ??
May seem silly , but many players have posted that they have NOT gotten one , but has anyone GOTTEN one from that corp agent ?
Your Mega Afocal Pulse Maser I perfectly strikes Asteroid (Veldspar) [R0ME], wrecking for 798.3 damage.
Your 425mm Railgun I perfectly strikes Guardian Captain, wrecking for 685.9 damage.

well I'm at 53 missions with my awesome agent and no implants yet(?) normal? I have seen people suggest intentionally failing a mission. Does that really help when you seem to be headed down a path that isn't paying off like what most players experience? If you can catch me you can have me. |

Edited by: SUNscatcher on 01/12/2003 20:02:29 Well around mission 64 got tired of my useless awesome agent so failed my first mission on purpose. A few missions later I rejected my first mission too(38 jump round tripper in indy. Got an implant 4 missions later. Maybe failing does help break the cycle because until then I did seem to be getting the same missions over and over again.
Funny thing about rejecting the mission I thought my agent rating would drop but what did drop was my standing with his corp. If you can catch me you can have me. |
