Is the Curse a good option for L4 missions? I heard its possible but don't know of any setups or first hand experience. When I say good, I mean comparable to other Amarr ships. (Zealot, Absolution, Apoc)
Up until now I have mostly flown frigates and not done a lot of missions. I want to change that however and get up to Tech 2 Cruiser/Battlecruiser level. Ideally I want *one* ship class that can both double as my main PvP ship and run missions in it too so I can economize on skillpoints.
To be honest I really want to fly the Curse but how does it compare with the Absolution for mission running? With the skillpoints involved I do not want to be training for both, for the time being.
Thanks for reading and I hope someone can help out.

Edited by: Norvys Kerens on 29/10/2006 02:54:51 This is purely my opinion as i've never attempted a level 4 in a curse. I reckon it would be possible to do *some* level 4's in a curse but for level 4 missions you really need a decent tank. the Nos on the curse will not affect NPC's in the same way they affect players, the NPC's will still be shooting and you're gonna have a nightmare sustaining fire from multiple BS, especially if you're webbed and if you get swamped by cruisers you're also in trouble.
The absolution is the Amarr command ship if i remember correctly? unless i'm mistaken it requires Heavy Assault Ship level 4 to fly it and a Heavy assault ship can do level 4's as it can tank a lot of damage. therefore you could train a Heavy Assault Ship for level 4's until you have the skills for an Absolution and as you need Heavy Assault Ships level 4 for your Absolution anyway it doesn't mean that you've split your skill training.

Curse honestly isnt well suited for missions...not that you couldnt use it for them...there are simply better ships for it. It is a largely cap dependent ship....and the tank isnt close to a absolution...so i would tell you to go with a HAC or T2 BC over the recons...much thicker skin and better dps in most cases.

A shield tanked curse can tank almost all lvl 4 missions, and its especially good on the Angel ones.

Tank is one side of the equation....it has a fair one....the second part is sustainability and damage. If you like using drones on missions it may be for you...i would just warn that in the past they have often caused unwanted aggros for ppl.
Curse can do it...but it becomes an academic discussion if it cant do it efficiently and in relative safety. In summary...yeah it can do it but so can my harpy...depending on the mission and my kit.
Are their better ships for missioning than a curse, absolutely. Abso being one of em.
HOpe that helps.

For Angel/Guerista Missions: 1* med dim NOS, 4* Arbalest Heavy launchers 1* T2 shield booster, 2* Multyspec (Or Therm/Multi), 3* T2 expanders 1* shield Power relay, 3* PDU II
Use nos to help susuain your tank some, but you have allmost 11k shields with awesome resists. And enough firepower to kill 1 mill bounty BS's.
