Edited by: Flashrain on 29/10/2006 15:48:20 Simply put, a class of implants that are indestructible. Implement a special gene-programming option in medical labs that writes the implant data directly into your genes.
These will show up as implants in the character sheet. Except that they will be unremovable by any means.
Pros: No longer lose implants.
Cons: Stuck with those implants. Forever. No means to upgrade them if/when better versions come out.
Optionally... Make this option available at high monetary cost in isk. Make this option available at certain high standings with NPC corps (like jump clones) Make this option available only through certain missions (COSMOS/storyline) Make this option available with certain failure chance to lose the implant.

I just wanted to say that current implementation (game mechanic associated with them) of implants is bit flawed.
Biggest problem with them is that if you are combat pilot, you simply cannot use them. And that leads to carebear syndrome (whee! nice implant -> plug in -> cant risk dieing anymore or you lose n+1 billion ISK worth of implants)
Theres couple good ways to solve this:
1. Make new clone type that also clones your implants after death. 2. Make implants more widely available (ie: reduce cost), so people dont become insta carebears after plugging implant in. 3. Make implants salvageable from frozen corpses (ie: one way to make them more widely available and reduce the price). --- Get rid of those *bleep*ing secure containers. *bleep*! |

There are jumpclones to secure Your precious implants. Lots of people simply have +4 to all or +5 to all jumpclones somewhere, for vacation times.
Generally, better to have fun in game then have more skillpoints or shield regen :)

Yep, jumpclones are teh solution you're looking for. I'm to poor for fancy implants, but I've got a +3 clone stashed away that I jump to when it'll be a busy week at work, and it cuts my training time appreciably.
The super-duper combat-boosting implants will, I think, be supplanted by their drug-based counterparts, and the benefit of a Snake set is great enough to justify the cost for the super rich stabbabond pilots who use them. -------------- Civis Ascendant Sum |
