I have had a look around but cant seem to find any other topics on this exact issue.
I run both a dual core amd system and a single core amd system - I have been having crashes at home on my main pc for ~4 weeks now and tried every single possible thing even running it on a wireless netowrk card... All my drivers are up to date etc. I decided not to use my sound card and still crashes contiued ( uninstalled the drivers, used a driver clean up tool and removed it from the system... )
When checking my event logs I have this which happens at the exact time of the crash:
Quote: The system detected that network adapter NVIDIA...Controller - Packet Scheduler Miniport was connected to the network, and has initiated normal operation over the network adapter.
And the entire system locks up and cannot do anything, ive tried leaving it on over night to see if it clears up the crahs and recovers but no only a hard reboot does the trick... There is no set time for when it crashes it crashes randomly and it is very very annoying! i have only just realised that its linked to eve after intsalling eve on my friends pc and having the exact error i get at home which I can only persume is eve!
Anyone with any help, links or whatever I will be very appriciative!
Regards.

You may want to check this thread and see if your issues sound similar:

last night my computer crashed (causing reboot) whilst playing eve about once or twice every hour. When the crash occurs they freeze up and either reboot themselves or lock up the computer and need to be reset manually, rarely will it crash to desktop.
After i got totally fed up with it and stoped trying to play eve i started a burn in test to make this system fall over like eve can
I have just finish running the 12 hour burn in test of death and my gibson remained rock solid through the whole test, 0 errors
this is happening on both of my machines and only in eve. |

Hi
I ran a program to test if my system was overheating and discovered that the fan for the power control unit might be causing the problem. Relatively cheap and easy to change and will let you know if this solves the issue.

I had the same crashed. I finally fixed it by disabling my internal sound chip (audiogy or something like that) and installed a SB Live 5.1 (a very old sound card) and the crash disappears. If you have soundblaster try upgrading the sound drivers. Hope that helps. I also know that turning off sound does not fix the problem. I tried that for about a week, while it crash a lot less, it still crashes.
