I'm not one to try and draw too much attention to myself or my exploits, so I'll be brief.
Yesterday, after much deliberation (and no small amount of trepidation), I decided upon the formation of Liberty Vanguard, a Federation-aligned paramilitary organization operating in a defense and security capacity toward Federation space, interests and assets.
At this time, we do not have any formal plans for involvement in any military campaigns or statements of intent, what we do have is a desire to understand and exemplify the ideals that founded the Federation and to respond, where necessary and able, to any threats (domestic and foreign) to those ideals.
We are not aligned to any particular political party, though the founder and CEO most closely identifies as a pro-military Dove.
We are not aligned to any particular corporation or interest group.
We are not mercenaries and our services are not for hire outside of the Federation.
Our members will be held to a high standard of conduct and integrity.
More information will be forthcoming if necessary or requested.
Thank you for your time.

From what I've seen of your spirit so far, your service to the Federated Union will be a credit to the ideals all Galltente hold dear.
I'm happy to offer my personal support, should you find yourself seeking advice or friendship of a comrade in arms.
Furthermore, in my capacity as a diplomatic representative of the Villore Accords alliance I'd like to formally establish standings and cooperation between our organizations.
Federal Defense Union aligned entities have a long history of friendly cooperation between pilots with a wide diversity of goals and aspirations, and I have no doubt you and yours will be welcome. |

It's quite alright and an easy conclusion to draw.
The Dove platform ultimately seeks peaceful, non-military resolution to conflict. This involves a priority on diplomatic initiatives, responses, interests and so on. Military action is generally reserved as a "last resort" option. Doves will generally oppose any military action that is offensive in nature (invading another nation, setting up blockades or military embargoes, etc) but will reluctantly accept some military action if necessary bring diplomacy to the table.
However, there is a division within the Dove bloc; there are some that promote the complete reduction of spending on military while another suggests maintaining military spending and development as a necessary part of maintaining our security and freedoms.
I would belong to the latter group. A strong military is a must in today's geopolitical climate but I would prefer that military be used to defend and protect, not to destroy or conquer.

Would you like to know what's "sad?"
What's sad is when the cluster has reached a point that we, the self-proclaimed "elite," count among our number individuals who find it "sad" that someone would choose to defend their homeland, the people within it and the ideals upon which it was founded even through military action if necessary. That the choice to take a defensive stance, serving to protect those who cannot protect themselves, mitigate damage and chaos and strive to promote stability in an ever-shifting war zone is viewed as a negative thing.
That's sad.
Regardless of your opinions on the matter, regardless of what you wish to tell yourself or all of the statistics and propaganda you may wish to bring to your own defense; there are people living in the systems under the war zone; people whose lives are affected by the chaos, the turmoil, the conflict, the destruction and the flippancy and disregard of militias all too happy to consider them a statistic rather than people.
I, for one, refuse to do nothing when I could do something.
Save your judgments, they'll do you no good wasting them on me.

I am sorry if I offended you sir.
I just think that you actually contribute negatively to what you try to defend by taking part into the very system that turned those areas into scorched lands, where everything at stake is burnt to the glory of the LP militia stores...
Like incursions, that regions have turned into farms tended by capsuleers for their enjoyment. I do not mean to attack the integrity of your character, or your motivations, sir... I really hope you can see that at least, even if out of disagreement. |

I'm not offended, I simply took the opportunity to make my opinion on the matter clear as well.
I thank you for a reasoned response.
Any system, regardless of the intent behind its institution, can be used for good or ill. Though the militias and CEWPA may have turned the war zones into "scorched land," that very same system can be used to help promote and defend stability and security in those areas, which can lead to reconstruction and restoration.
It's a long and lofty goal, but any goal worth striving for is.

Obviously, cold and calculative warrior will defeat a savage, who is led only by its rage.
But on the other hand, if you have already learned how to fight with your knowledge and skill, you will prefer to have hated enemy. Because anger and hatred, if channeled carefully, can enhance your strength and endurance tenfold. If you will let hatred and anger to control you, you will lose ability to fight with skill and knowledge, and you will fail. But if you will be able to control and guide your hatred and anger towards your hated enemy, the efficiency of your applied skill will become way greater than your enemy or yourself would expect.
Fighting against hated enemy, fighting when you wish to fight, when you protect others and wish death to enemy with every cell of your body, will allow you to make right choices and to sacrifice yourself when it will be needed without second thought. |

Joining the militia does not entail immediately launching, or participating in, a military campaign.
For clarification: a military campaign would be actions such as the recent blockade in Reitsato launched by GMVA, or a specific plan of action to capture or secure various systems or combat against a specific group or corporation.
We have no plans to do any such activities at this time and joining the militia would be a step toward gaining legal rights to engage in the war zone, nothing more at this time.
