This would also be useful as someone who does industry on the side, without being in their own alt corp. Having separate wallet divisions for manufacturing costs, research costs, and trade expenses would make it a bit easier to track the flow-through of ISK without having to resort to spreadsheets and other third-party software.
It is, admittedly, not the best choice, as third-party software will always provide a much more detailed look at things, but it can still be very useful for a more casual player who doesn't have the time or inclination to make a bunch of spreadsheets for it.
It could also allow players to separate their ISK into PvP funds, PLEX funds, and similar, would allow them to set a bit aside as a rainy-day fun without it sitting in the main wallet, or any other reason a person might want to have funds separate from their individual wallet without having to keep track of things in an external program.

This is currently the only open thread on the topic, not counting the Little Ideas thread where discussion tends not to take place. Are we not allowed to have a thread open on something that people seem to want?
Admittedly, the original poster of this thread, Ddolik, seems to be a bit of a troll, but that doesn't change this thread currently being the only open one on the subject. If there are issues with it being a troll thread, then perhaps Rock Kick-Ass' thread could be reopened.
It's only fair to have at least one open thread for potential discussion, is it not?
