Edited by: Presidente Gallente on 30/10/2006 09:42:02 Greetings clones,
I was wondering if there are other clones using a Dell Inspiron 9400 [XP/XP Pro] with nVidia Geforce Go 7800 for their ship's core computer. I have experienced some GFX crashes and rare blue screens within the last months. It just happens when I run EVE and probably other extensions/apps???!
Any [Gamer/EVE Dev/Support] clones out there with the same experience or an idea what could be responsible for such a problem?
Inspiron 9400 nVidia Geforce Go 7800 XP Pro [German] 2GB RAM
Fly strong skilled and core computer stable!

Blue screen? What error message do you get on the bluescreen?
And do you mean that you get the graphics crash instantly when you start up EVE, or randomely?

Bluescreen = next time I will do a shot of this GFX crash = randomly, rare but it seems when EVE runs several hours and when I am running missions
Thanks!

Sounds like it could be a heat problem.
Try underclocking your graphics card and/or putting a nice fan next to the laptop or something. Maybe raise it a bit off the desk using a riser.

Identical setup here, no problems. Run the Dell Diagnostics CD - sounds like your graphics board might be broken. Mine broke a few months ago causing all sorts of weird problems. Dell replaced, and now I'm happy.
