I'm a Caldari character, and I've been flying nothing but Caldari ships fitted with missiles, so for a change, I bought a Brutix and fitted it out with 6 250mm railguns. I've tried a couple of missions with it, and it's a welcome change, but I have a question about the railguns. Whenever I start firing, if I have all 6 guns going, one of the guns will shut down on it's own...why is this? Is there a limit to how many guns I can have firing at once? I'm right on the limit with the power grid and cpu usage, can this be causing it? Any and all replies appreciated. Thanks

i'm guessing your cap is ok? Unlike missiles railguns use cap so if ya on the edge of ya cap when ya set all 6 off i guess one could switch itself off.
Only reason i can think of off the top of my head.

No, that's the weird thing...with my skills as they are, I can have the AB going and all six guns, and my cap happily "floats the load", with no drop whatsoever, so that's not it. If I try and re-fire the gun, it pops off a couple of rounds, and then stops again...weird.

right click on the gun(s) that stop firing and make sure they aren't set to "Manual On". If it gives you the option to turn "Autofire On" or somesuch, then hit that and you should be fine.
that's my best guess at any rate.

Yes, you probably set it to manual while trying to reload it.

ok, I'll have a look when I get back on-line and see if that is the problem. Thanks for the input.

Yep, you guys nailed it, that's exactly what it was...must have done it inadvertently while reloading or something. Many thanks again for the assist!
