I know.. I was just finishing a short skill train and about to do a long skill train for the DT and boom. Server seems to have crashed around 0600 GMT. Apparently a lot of people were having problems connecting/getting back on. I tracerouted (from Cogeco in Ontario, Canada) and it reached all the way to Europe -- Level3 in London, but that's it. Now I've lost a day's worth of skill training. Oh well. Life goes on I suppose.

As posted by kieron there was a failure with an ISP's network which resulted in players mostly located in the north america area to be unable to connect, this matter is unfortunately out of CCP's hands and they are adding more ISP backbones with the current upgrades. ---

I was kinda surprised (and wondering) last night to see only about 3000+ players on before the downtime. I guess Pacific wasn't effected by the ISP outage

You know, I've seen several references to problems in London / Level 3, and Pingplotter shows problems there as well for me. I know diddly squat about isp's, but is there a way for that particular internet intersection to be improved? Can it be bypassed or something so that traffic flow improves?
Seems like its a major bottleneck for folks. My ping jumps from 30 to 100 or so making the leap to London, accompanied by plenty of packet loss. When the server is up, I typically have a 140ms ping.

Does anyone know what time the Down Time is in??? I know it's "10:00 - 10:00 GMT (24 hours)"... but is that in AM or PM (or 24-hour/military time)???
Just would like to know when I could possibly get back online... thanx...

Looks like the server is down again. Managed to get on for awhile last night, some this morning, and again I cannot get online at Eve Online.
