The server team is in the process of running tests for the new nodes and hardware. We are still on track for a return to service of approx. 1000 GMT.

I just assumed CCP had decided to DT early and i'd been shafted of 24+ hours training. This not the case?
From what I understand some of their internet providers went down... so some of us got screwed and others didn't. Hey CCP, since it wasn't your fault, how about you post the webpage of the internet provider that went down? That way those of us who got the shaft last night can mob up and let them know how we feel.

I got boned by the Internet outage. I tried repeatedly to log in and set my LONG skill but was unable to do so. BAH! After Tranq comes back up I will petition it and see if I can get credit. Since this does not seem to be an issue that was CCP's fault, only time will give the true answer

what I would like to know is if those of us that were unable to login before the scheduled DT due to the massive routing errors will be reimbursed for the 24hours lost training time due to being unable to switch their skills over before the scheduled DT started. (such as in my case :/ )

There were network issues on the part of our ISP that prevented some players from connecting to EVE before the server went down this morning. We did push back the start of downtime by an hour to assist those that missed the earlier opportunity to change skills, but an hour is all we could spare.
Part of this hardware upgrade is also to add multi-homing that should limit network issues of this morning's sort in the future.

As much as I would like to be able to say, "Yes", it would not be possible for us to determine who could and could not connect as a result of the network outtage.

Well, I feel screwed because this morning, I disconnected from Eve at exactly 9:59, thinking that the server would go down at 10:00... And guess what, now I read that the server stayed up for 1 extra hour, which means that I actually lost 1 hour of potential mining or mission running! I want that reimbursed!

I doubt that CCP has a clause in the EULA or wherever stating some sort of guaranteed server uptime. So, I don't see why people think they are owed something.
Although, I could be wrong. I was wrong before.
Anyone know?

so that means that at 10.00 GMT the servers will start up, so that they will be rebooted at 11.00 GMT?

I was in the middle of a rat-fest, drones deployed and finishing up a skill, when everything dropped. Afterward I tried for two and a half hours to reconnect. During that time I was able to surf the web without any problems. The only site I could not go to was this one.
And you're telling me Tranquility wasn't down? I find that a bit hard to believe.
So, I stand to lose:
a) my brand new ship (it's insured, but my loadout is not) b) my drones c) possibly my implants, and d) over 24 hours of training time.
I'm EST, and have to work like everyone else. I stayed up until 4:00 am this morning trying to salvage this mess. Never could get back online.
My question is: Will CCP assist those of us who can provide logs to prove they were harmed by the server drop?

Edited by: Sharasa on 01/11/2006 22:41:34 I also stayed up until 4 am after unexpectedly having the server crash a few hours early before they said it would. I was just getting ready to change it to a long skill too. Because of this i have no skill in training now and lose 24 hour or more of training time........
