There is an Eve group that uses the SETI software to search for a wormhole, that's where all my idle processing power goes

I started off with CPU-blitzing programs, many years ago, running the distributed.net program with a group of people from University...
After that, I switched over to use the UD program, back when it was first released, but it was ridiculously buggy back then (in that it saved your progress as you completed each 1%, which could take anything between 10 minutes and 72 hours on the computer I was using at the time - if you switched your machine off, as people occasionally do, you had to start that segment again).
Next was SETI, but recently stopped using that when it became integrated in with the BOINC project, which requires that you open a long list of TCP-ports in order to use it, and the Linux implementation wasn't too nice...
So now I'm back with running distributed.net on a spare desktop machine......would consider running UD again, if they ever develop a command-line-based Linux client.
