I have heard that this is possible, but my searches of the forums have all produced threads that are ancient and talk about fitting 3 1mn MWDs, obviously under the old rules.
Any help on this topic at all?

1mn MWD cannot be fitted on industrials - theyre frigate only. Afaik you can only fit afterburners on such ships.

Edited by: Shayla Sh''inlux on 02/11/2006 18:21:59 Above poster is absolutely wrong. Just because a module is intended to be used on a frig or a cruiser doesn't mean you can't fit it on something else. Granted, CCP made the benefits of doing that virtually non-existant for everything that's not a shield extender or an armor plate, but it's still possible.
Also, Industrials are cruiser sized ships, so the 10mn MWD is the "right" sized module for it. Anyway, let's see for the Mark V:
85 powergrid base, 5 lowslots +10 MAPC = 95 +10 MAPC = 105 +15% RCU II = 120,75 +15% RCU II = 138,86 +15% RCU II = 159,69 +25% Engineering lvl 5 = 199,61 powergrid.
10mn MWD II - 165 pg; looks to me like it fits easy enough and you can probably get it done with just 5 tech 1 RCU's as well.
Let's see:
85 x 1,10^5 * 1,25 = 171. Peanuts.

Edited by: Kogame Tomika on 02/11/2006 19:08:07 Alrighty then, looks like Indy V is my next training spot. Already have Engineering V. And for the record, yes, I was aware that a 1MN MWD was a problem, as I pointed out I was referring to old posts which made references to the old system when you could fit multiple ABs and MWDs.
Now, RCU is Reactor Control Unit, but what is a MAPC?
EDIT; Belay that question. I assume you are referring to a Micro Auxillary Power Core?

Yes, he is.

With just 3 x RCU II you have enough grid for a Tech I 10MN MWD. Leaves you two low slots free for nanos or expanders. ~

Hmmm... good point on the RCU IIs. One more skill to train to level 5 I suppose. :)

As was demonstrated by Shayla Sh'inlux, it's possible to fit 10MN MWD on (tech 1) Iteron V, but it is not worth it. With Gallente Industrial at lvl 5, you'll have no problem jumping into a transport ships. They, especially blockade runners (with the exception of Crane) are much better fit for it. ------ No ISK, no fun |

Mammoth can fit a 10mn MWD too , only a level 4 Indy so less training , if speed is what you looking for a good alternative , though looking at the above posts Itty V with 2 Nano's might be better , and more cargo I pwned myself , but still less training ....

The Sigil (tier 1 Amarr Indy) can fit a 10mn MWD with the appropriate skills/low slot fittings. 5 low slots let you do it.
Can only fire the MWD 2 or 3 times, though...and recharge is really crappy.. :(

5 Nanos and a 10MN AB2 might be more beneficial. Less straightline speed but reduced times warping. May be meaningless in random low sec systems where you don't have bookmarks as you'll always be vulnerable to snipers aproaching gates. However, in 0.0, with bookmarks, indies are most vulnerable upon jump in between when they uncloak and warp out. When I left the game there were no Bubble ****ters, however. Now that I'm back, Interdictors have changed 0.0 travel signifigantly.
What does all this rambling mean?

I got my information from the Item database from the website here, I must admit I didnt test it since I have no MWD in my inventory. I am glad that MWD can be fitted on industrials tho (thanks for clearing that up), but I think that CCP needs to adjust the description for those items. Clicky <---- I feel that CCP needs to make the notes for MWD more clear. (see bottom part of item description).

No, it won't. Bubbles still exist, and may even be allowed in low-sec when all the low-sec rats figure out they're out of a job.

A MWD equiped Itty may come in handy in a handfull of situations besides running for the gate. Plus it will be so fun to ram macro-miners with it :D

If your going to go for an Iteron V, you might think about training Industry up to V as well so you can get Gallente Transports. Both the Occator and the Viator can fit an 10mn MWD pretty easily (no mods required for the occator).
They are/can be significantly faster then an iteron V as well.
