hi everyone....just coming up to my last few days of my 30 day free trial, and had been enjoying eve, but after trying both mining and trading i find they both suffer from the same problem, you can`t move around and make more cash the markets are all the same...doesn`t matter where you go to trade within the safe areas , and so you`re stuck doing the same bloody repetative run all the time between the same stations carrying the same merchandise.....is there something I`m missing? or is that the snails pace that you go at to achieve a bit of cash? i didn`t want to join a corp but it seems that solo players are very handicapped by what I`ve said above....if anyone has any suggestions on how to free me from my "boring as hell" silicon run 7 jumps down the line could they plaese enlighten me??? otherwise i fear that i`ll reluctantly say farewell to eve :(((((

I dont know how your assets are ship-wise. But When I was starting I started mining and saved up for a industrial ship, mined in the frigate into a container and then brought out the indy to pick up the ore. This way I saved up money pretty fast and bought a Thorax cruiser and was able to mine alot faster with 5 miners untill I had anough money to replace it. Then I started npc farming. bought a few blueprints. First cheap ones and then ended up with a Moa bp.
It takes time to get into Eve. Its often best to join a corp in the beginnig to get help with learning the ropes of it. And if you want to stay independant after you have gotten the hang of it you can always leave the corp.
clagnuts> im drunk just come back from pirates night in spain , wtf i thought it was some eve guys getting together for a drink , turned out to be a feken real pirates show , doh |

Dear Mr. Lynxz
Try setting urself small objectives instead of wanting to accumulate cash as fast as possible...
I fear if u're already bored after 30 days this might not be the right game for u..... |

Dear Mr/Ms Kish, I didn`t say I was bored with the game....bored with being stuck on the only ways i could find to make money ...yes....my first 30 days in eve consisted of .....mining(lots of) buying stabber to see universe ...getting shot to hell by some tosser called Billy Bob some pathetic player who finds it amusing to kill easy noob targets....traded and made good money but it was very repetative... as I said I thought that travelling distance would give a different trade market so i searched all over but....like hell it does, very dissapointed in that aspect, if you travel to different"continents" you should at least be able to find a good bargain surely....and haul it back to a profitable area, so kish actually i love the game but it appears you`re strapped if you want to be solo and not want to join a corp, I`ve put a lot of time into eve as i`ve not been working for the last month so its not a case of an hour a night kinda thing...

Edited by: Kish on 07/11/2003 13:34:02 Hey Lynxz, didn't mean to offend u...
But as u stated being a solo player somewhat limits the possibilities u have and u'll miss the opportunities u might have in a corporation. I perfectly understand that some people want to play this game as a solo character, but as in any mmorpg soloing is perhaps a viable option but not a very interesting one and keeps u from the "social" aspects most mmorpgs are about...
being shot at is part of the game too although some people enjoy griefing far too much.... It migth be a good idea for u to join a freelancing corporation which as i understand are mostly soloplayers banding together for short periods of time only to get something done and leave u the freedom of doing whatever u wnat to do for the rest of ur ingame time..
I hope u don't leave the game because of boredom as the game has so much more to offer even when it has some known(and unknown)issues..
Give it a try, do sth. else for a while(agent missions should be fairly interesting after the next patch...)
best wishes and enjoy the game
Kish
(mail or convo me ingame if u feel bored.. i'm always up for a little chitchat)

i'd like to point out that "griefing" isn't a word and is one made up by the eve community (pointless), so new people wont know what it means

Not just Eve, seen it used in other MMOGs as well.

first off, u already mentioned a good reason to carry on...
a guy killed u when u were a n00b? so either build up on ur own or with help of a corp and take him out...revenge is sweet!!!
and if you join a corp, join a felable corp, not one that wants slaves! there are alot out there, dont join the first one u see :)
btw this is only my second day! my first mistake of the game?? i was not sure where i had to warp to, warped into a training feild and got killed by training drones before i figured how to get away lol :D

Collect ships....
Wanna have em all ....
or make em ...crusiers only , tried Bantums but sandwiches make more isk ...
Trading around the agents base always makes isk..
lazy or rich mission monkeys will always buy rather than jump 7 jumps .....and then ammo....why spend isk to shot things ...make it and sell it at a profit and your shots are free..
Eve has ups and downs sometimes are find the tedium a killer but otherdays ....I free the push to stay the course...one day the flower will blossum.
But it you cant take the isk get out of the frigate......
