Originally by: Roy Batty68 Well... from CCP's point of view:
1) They create bookmarks with the intent that players are able to mark a few places in space for mining, POS, mission stuff, etc.
2) Players extend that functionality past what the company envisioned to include instants and safespots.
3) Players try to BM the entire game and copy it amongst themselves and EXPECT that that is now the excepted way of playing the game.
4) Database starts acting up and lag issues arise because the number of BMs being stored and dealt with on a constant basis is greater than the game designers ever expected.
So...?
About the only thing that is obvious is that CCP really needs to turn BMs off completely and replace the functionality that players have bastardized BMs into with some other implementation that doesn't break the game in so many ways. Including what the OP has apparently experienced.
So in a way OP, you are writing to the Bic company and complaining that you are tired of burning your fingers whenever you try to cook your eggs using one of their cigarrette lighters... Their natural response is, well if you don't like burning your fingers, stop cooking eggs with our lighters. Your sense of reality is a bit skewed because everyone else around you is cooking their eggs with lighters too. And it seems messed up because Bic currently isn't producing a proper egg cooker.
So we wait for CCP to invent the oven and skillet. And in the meantime we either burn our fingers or go without eggs.

What is annoying about all this is that during the beta, some smart guy figured out how to make insta's. Called Longwalker at that time. After the character that figured it out and shared the info to the rest of us.
CCP should have been able to see this coming... sadly, they didn't stop it when it would have been a simple matter. Now it's a very complicated mess and is also part of the basis for the way the game is played now. ___________________________________________ The deeper you stick it in your vein, the deeper the thoughts there's no more pain. ___________________________________________
