So, with Vista RTM this month(30th of november to be exact), i got thinking. Have the current codebase maanged to work on the Rc2 bits(Which is the newest so far). I remember that people told about bad performence on Rc1.
If not, are the performence issues gonna be adressed in a minor patch, to be deployed within this month?

Vista for consumers isn't out until next year. Businesses get it this month.
I doubt CCP will be too concerned with businesses playing Eve :P

Yes, for consumers, isnt before 30th January of 2007. But i guess a lot of people, will actually get Vista on the 30th of November.
But eve works on Rc2 bits? Good stuff

As with all M$ crap, don't be in too big of a hurry to load Vista.
Don't think they have DX10 cards yet or even drivers for most things.
MAYBE I'll join everyone and loan Vista in 2 or 3 years. MAYBE.

Well, RC2 vista is so bad id like to curse in ways breaking forum rules almost to describe, but its, BAD!
It eats the registry files of XP installs in same machine's different Hard drives, and black screen crashes, killing all OSes installed, or close. it destroy the HD's file systems, corrupts, and looks nice, but is garbage under the display driver's front.

Chaddy why you want to play EVE under Vista?? DX10 isn't supported yet and the current DX9 games will be 20-30% slower on it! (MS said so few weeks ago).
I understand someone may consider buy Vista to play EVE after the DX10 patch-engine and if he has to spend aprox ú800-ú1000 to upgrade his current machine but not before.
And talking about DX10 look at the bottom of the following page the 2 EVE screenshots from DX10 as they claim. http://www.nvnews.net/vbulletin/showpost.php?p=1010840&postcount=1

RC2 works fine for me as well, actually smoother than XP Pro.

All versions of Vista will be RTM at the same time. OEM's can begin shipping to volume license customers (ie businesses) in november, but there is an embargo on shipping to consumers until January. If your part of the many MS programs that have early access to software (ie MSDN, etc) then they will likely have it in Nov. as well.

Bull. ATI have shipped RTM drivers for vista. Nvidia and creative havent. In 2 or 3 years, because of the reworked kernel, a new windows should be shipping.
Dx10 cards will ship this month. And there have already been tests of a few of them. MS have NOT been in a hurry. They have delayed the consumers release several times, and they have pushed it because of the big companys, that couldnt be ready for public release. Hence why consumers cant get their hands on it, before January.

Hmm Would be interesting to see if the new radeon drivers sort out eve
I have RC2 and my other games like Battlefield and rFactor run fine and are graphically demanding. But poor old eve stutters like crazy, can barely not constant low fps but stutters, like its the hdd and cpu doing the rendering lol.
Not sure why this which is ashame, as if i can get eve working on vista then i would switch it over

Get a real working version, and you'll find all the injected spyware, viruses and other rubbish don't do that...
Seriously, look at your hardware and your other software before blaming windows.
