Hey guys,
I've already submitted a tech-support ticket but thought I'd put this out there to see if anyone else is having similar issues.
When attempting to open the in-game browser, the Mac client freezes. To restart the client, I am required to force quit in Activity Monitor the 3x Eve Online processes and the wine server process.
If I only force quit the client process and restart a new client session from the existing launcher session, the new client session will not start at all.
Upon restarting the client and launcher from scratch, sometimes the browser will load successfully, but most of the time it will freeze again. Trouble-shooting steps are listed below:
- Restarted client and tried opening in-game browser again - client freezes
- Tried opening with different website (browser bookmark shortcut) - client freezes
- Tried opening with different account on same computer - client freezes
- Tried opening igb both docked and undocked - client freezes
I'm running latest client and launcher. This issue has only been noticed since the Mosaic patch a few days ago. Prior to that, client was running smoothly.
Client: v13.04.878744 Launcher: v2.2.878305 OS: Yosemite, v10.10.3 (latest) Mac Specs: iMac 27in, late 2013; 3.5GHz i7 24gb memory, GeForce GTX780M

I'm having the same issue right now. If I skip the launcher, everything seems to work.

Reproduced the issue on my old MBP. This is on the back of a full wipe and re-install from scratch after I just got the iMac 1x week ago.

Just tried this technique this morning, didn't get a single successful in-game browser launch in 10x attempts (on the iMac).
Seems to have less of an issue on the MacBook though. I had an initial crash when first trying to launch the IGB (using EVE launcher) and then none after (opening client directly). |

Same problem, very frustrated. Browser was working fine on Mosaic. It does not always freeze, I feel like 50% of time.
Client v2.2.878305, but it has been happening also on earlier versions of Mosaic. MacBook Pro 2015, i7 2.2, 16GB Ram, Intel Iris Pro, OsX Mavericks 10.9.5 |

I still don't have the problem. I might once have had it, but I only rarely do anything with the IGB.
IGB works-- swells it ever does, in station, while undocking, jumping through gates. The one thing I can't test easily is whether an API pull from the IGB would cause mischief. I don't do industry. I even ran the Niarja pipe while plugging random information into Steve's Fuzzwork apps.
So, it's not a simple thing. What are you all doing with the browser? Is it really just crashing the client on launch? CCP, is there a way to extract information they can send you?

Only difference I see is you updated to Yosemite. I thought Eve wasnt supported in Yosemite. Maybe it's time to update OS X with mosaic. |

I can't find any official word about Yosemite support, so I can't unreservedly recommend it. I can only say that it works for me.

Well, it was working fine in Yosemite until Mosaic was released. Even now with the small bi-daily patches, it's still freezing about 80% of the time.
Now on v13.04.879797
I don't think it's an API thing either as I have the browser freeze when opening on a Google bookmark. |

As of earlier this week (I haven't checked today), I'm having this problem. I did put in a ticket, haven't heard anything back.
I hear that Yosemite 10.3.3 has some problems. Whether this is related to that I can't say. All I know is that currently the only practical solution is to not use the IGB.

I experienced this issue also , although I am running Mavericks 10.9.5 I fixed it with a full client reinstall after trying all the easy options. To make life easier before deleting your client just move out the SharedCache folder first from l/Users/~/Library/Application Support/EVE Online/p_drive/Local Settings/Application Data/CCP/EVE then replace back over writing the new one when you do. Saves you downloading 16 Gb or such again at least and its only around 450Mb for the .dmg file now, if u don't have it already.
One thing I was wondering though is why does the in game browser now bring up a second eve instance in the dock when you open the IGB? It looks like you have multiple clients open when the second icon is just the IGB , what is going on there?,as that never used to behave that way when using the IGB? |

If your having this issue
1: open activity monitor 2: force quit the wine server. Nothing else matters of the EVE processes.
That makes it work for me.

Also having the same problem (having suffered no problems when I migrated to Mac's about 3 months ago). Clearing cache doesn't make a difference (been trying to clear the cache before opening the browser). |

Still had this issue recur with latest Carnyx update. Still seems intermittent between client start-ups (crashed on iMac, browser loaded on MBP). Will try more trouble-shooting tonight. |

I hoped it would be fixed for Carnyx. But still same random bug. It crashes like 2 times out of three and the client won't restart unless I reboot. It really removes a lot of depth to the game since you're not able to use all corp/third parties tools without risking a crash. Could you please also send "hurry up" to your partners? |

The same here - what is the point of pushing releases with ships, skins, dirt etc. when there are no bug fixes? How can I use 3rd party tools for exploration when the game is crashing? |

So I just did some more testing at home and got interesting results.
Both my iMac and MBP are updated to the latest Carnyx patch (v13.05.896464) as of 6-Jun. Both running OSX v10.10.3.
iMac
- (Account A, Char 1): Started game as normal & opened IGB from sidebar - Freezes
- (Account A, Char 1): Force-quit 2x EVE and the wineserver processes, restart game and retry same - Freezes (note that I didn't restart launcher)
- (Account A, Char 1): Force-quit all EVE-related processes and restart launcher - Freezes
- (Account A, Char 1): Rinse & repeat above, this time try opening to different bookmark directly (Google) - Freezes
- (Account A, Char 2): Rinse & repeat above, this time try 2nd character on same account - Freezes
- (Account B, Char 1): Rinse & repeat above, this time try 3rd character on 2nd account - Freezes
MacBook Pro
- (Account B, Char 1): Started game as normal & opened IGB from sidebar - No freeze
- (Account B, Char 1): Re-open IGB from both sidebar and bookmarks several times - No freeze
- (Account B, Char 1): Quit client & launcher and restart login process 5x times - No freeze
- (Account A, Char 1): Quit client & launcher and restart login process 2x times - No freeze
TL:DR, the IGB now works on my MBP with both accounts, and consistently freezes on my iMac. I had no issues with the updating process on either one and for all intents and purposes the game is the same on both, apart from this VERY annoying in-game browser bug on the iMac. |
