Edited by: Ethidium Bromide on 06/11/2006 11:16:27 communications scrambler anyone? prohibits communication with stations and gates.(no jumping or docking), med slot
range: 5km (+1km per skill lvl) communcations recalibration (time till the traget can hail stations or gates again, this is not interfered with by warping) 20secs (+2 secs per skill level recalbration delay) reactivation delay: 30 secs (would be a little mean to lock someone dead right in front of the station or gate ) applicable only once on a target (no cycle jamming, see above) CPU and grid like ECM multispectral.
communications backup arraycounter module, med slot lowers sensor recalibration time by 2 secs per skill level CPU and grid like ECCM

a good idea, and a bad idea all in one
A good idea as it would sort out those annoy guys that sit outside a station to gank someone, but then just re dock soon as someone with half a chance of beating them comes along.
a bad idea as it would jsut increase ganks, gate ganks would go up alot, and then we would have station ganks, and i think there is far too many ganks as it is already.

I think its fair with some module to stop people from jumping IF Warp to 0 goes live. But why not make normal warp disruptors prevent people from jumping? Just an idea.

well the idea of the module is to simulate having to approach the gate again. if you are lucky or fast or well tanked you make it, if not..... that's why i had that window of jamming time and reactivation delay

Interesting... taking away current game mechanics tho is bad, mm-kay? (Goading people into shooting, then lolling at them being unable to flee). Also, people would just have an alt to do this to everyone.
Suppose you could make it an aggress, but people would still spam it with alts.
The short range thing is very nice though, would cut down on the spamming and make it more skill-based.
Also deja vu in that the counter is farrr too weak if you lose a slot to fit it... especially a med slot!

Edited by: infraX on 06/11/2006 12:26:19 The amount of time to scramble someone that has warped in at 15km with no insta is the same amount of time you have if they had insta'd and were getting in to warp on the other side of the gate. The only difference is that a lot of stupid people will approach the gate and try and make it through instead of warping out again. The amount of time you have to catch them is the same in both instances (as long as they don't approach).
I'm all for removing instas and I don't think the warp to 0 option changes much. You just have to scramble people as they leave gates. All it changes is that people don't get the option to be stupid and approach a gate from 15km when its heavily camped.
This comes from a dedicated pvper and pirate. Look I'm not crying about it - I will adapt and maybe you should too.
On the other hand, I think a 15km only option would also be an interesting way of playing. The emphasis would be on smaller fast moving ships, tacklers and support in order to catch larger ships that are going about without adequate support. It would mean that bringing out the big guns would be reserved for when it's absolutely necessary for the task at hand. Might shake up the gameplay a bit and make things more interesting.
