K, i may or may not have at some point in my eve career watched someone attempt to form a working model of a intercorp pvp league. I'm looking into making the effort to put together such a thing and wanted to get some ideas and feedback on interest of such a thing.
Basically i view it as running much like a football season, 2 sides of the league, teams face off weekly against different teams on thier side of the league, culminating with a tournament at the end and a champion being crowned (obviously this is rough vision and not the spec's of the whole thing).
What im looking for is people who would be able and want to put aside a day a week for straight up, fair contested even fighting (no ew, t1 no officer, ship sizes up too battlecruiser t1, grounded rules) Personally for me the lack of true tests of teamwork and skill in eve are overly prevalent and this gives us all a chance to have fun in a "fair" and "fun" environment.
Either way this is simply a post looking at what interest is out there and the actual feasibility of such an idea within the game.

would be really awsome TBH. the only problem is keeping all the tin-foil asshats away and making sure it was run properly (fair and w/o bias).
this wouldnt be too hard, but it would turn into a job for someone and would require some dedication from whoever ran it.
if someone is willing to do that and has a credible name it would be great though. could really be a fun way to encourage small scale tactics/teamwork in eve.
and its commissioner hectic. fecking canadians.

but yeah it would take a huge amount of work, making sure all ships are scanned before fighting, everyone sticks to rules, ghey boi pirates dont turn up simply to ruin the event. Getting everyone into one system without the joy of GM /move haxsploits making sure its a convienent time.
For most of those reasons id be tempted to lean away from group V group combat, pairs would be the limit of size, due to organisation etc preferably 1 V 1, alliance V alliance or something. an IPO just crossed my mind where every share buys your alliance a place in the tourny fixed at X isk, limit to 1 per alliance.

Sounds like a great idea, MI would love to enter a competition like this.
Main issues I think would be keeping the idiots away, and making sure there was some sort of referee at each contest to ensure fairness.
I'd be happy to help organise.

I think it is something we are all crying out for atm.

Sounds good but I have another suggestion. Instead of just limiting it to one team per corp, let people set their own teams and team names. This would enable the people in much larger corps have 3-4 teams which imo would be better because rather than just the best pvpers joining the league there could be the others who just want the experience.

Rules and Logistics so far
1. Teams will register on a team registration forum post, u must register 8 people, 4 will be regulars, 4 will be team alternates.
2. Matches will consist of 2 bc's and 2 cruisers
3. Standard "fair play" rules will apply, NO ew/dampening/tracking disrupt or usage of any drone or module that has these effects.
4. There will be 2 referee's for each match (to be assigned)
5. Matches will take place 1 jump from empire into .0 (location undisclosed atm for obvious reasons, but has npc stations in system as well)
6. Matches will take place at rotating deep safe spots to avoid interferance.
7. There will be no registration fee for the initial season, however if no charitable contributions are recieved for the championship tourney a fee may be applied to provide prizes for the winners.
8. This is open to the eve public, all are welcome to register their teams.
9. Matches and match times will be posted on a public forum section on our forums as well as mailed to the participants 5 days before match day.
10. Matches will take place every Saturday unless participation balloons to the point of needing multiple days to get matches in.
This is what i have so far, im open to suggestions or revisions and also further ideas on what will be needed.
Just as an added fyi, "teams" don't need to be necessarily YOUR CORP, teams can consist of a group of your friends from anywhere, as long as you are registered on the same team under the same team name, you can fight together.

I've also considered a similar idea, but it has always boiled down to me not really having enough time or energy to run it constantly Hopefully yours picks up though!

I am curious as to how you are going to police: that people stay within grounds (no "heal to 0" command for you) that they dont carry faction implants and other similar sploitz... k mods you can check with a ship scanner but that as far as it goes rly no?
Peraps force peeps on the winning team to undergo podding after the event to be able to claim the points :D :D :D
I suggest (if you are serious about this) you should ask CCP to provide refs with uberpowers

I suggest (if you are serious about this) you should ask CCP to provide refs with uberpowers
faction implants will be allowed to prevent *****ing. and with 2 cruisers and 2 BCs, its unlikely any ship will roll out of 50km radius of centre, so its fair to say, go out of range, your disqualified, and auto loose
